Within Research and Development (R&D), the USP Development department is responsible for developing robust upstream manufacturing processes for biosimilar products, ensuring scalability, quality, and efficiency from early development through to commercial production. The team works in a highly collaborative, science-driven environment, supporting critical biologics programs across the pipeline.
We are currently looking for a motivated and hands-on professional to join our team in the following position:
Overview of Job Role
Alvotech is looking to hire an Associate Scientist to join the USP Development team in Stockholm, Sweden. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career scientist to contribute to the development of upstream processes in a dynamic and fast-paced laboratory environment.
In this role, you will support laboratory operations and assist scientists in executing development studies. You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory organization, supporting experimental work, and ensuring smooth day-to-day activities within the USP Development lab.
Scope and responsibility:
- General supervision and upkeep of the USP Development laboratory
- Management of laboratory inventory and supplies
- Coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Tracking and performing routine equipment maintenance
- Supporting SOP development and updates
- Supporting scientists with sample handling and logistics
- Study preparation and execution
- Contributing to process improvements and efficiency
- Supporting additional team activities as needed
Job requirements:
- BSc or MSc degree in Biotechnology or related discipline
- Practical laboratory experience
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a structured environment
- Fluency in English
- Collaborative and proactive mindset
- Eagerness to learn and develop
