As the Associate Director, Global Patient Finding, you will play a key strategic role in shaping and evolving Biogen’s global Patient Finding capabilities, with a primary focus on Rare Diseases. You will lead enterprise-level initiatives focused on how patients are identified, diagnosed, and initiated on treatment across global markets, partnering closely with global, regional, and affiliate stakeholders.
This role combines strategy, innovation, analytics, and stakeholder leadership. You will define and operationalize the global Patient Finding operating model, drive scalable analytics- and AI-enabled solutions, and influence senior leaders across the organization to ensure measurable patient and business impact. Operating in a highly matrixed environment, this role requires resilience, strong strategic judgment, and the ability to influence without formal authority.
What You'll Do
Define, own, and evolve Biogen’s global Patient Finding strategy and operating model, with a focus on Rare Diseases
Establish strategic priorities, governance principles, and success measures aligned with enterprise CE&O objectives and portfolio needs
Lead the global Patient Finding initiative portfolio end-to-end, ensuring initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and sequenced effectively
Drive enterprise-level Patient Finding initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas
Own the Patient Finding performance framework, including KPIs, success metrics, ROI tracking, and value delivery reporting
Use analytics and insights to inform strategic prioritization, decision-making, and senior leadership discussions
Set the innovation agenda for Patient Finding, including advanced analytics, AI-enabled solutions, and emerging technologies
Select and oversee external partners, methodologies, and pilots aligned with global strategy and enterprise impact
Provide strategic oversight and guidance to international affiliates, ensuring alignment while enabling local adaptation
Influence and align senior stakeholders across regions and functions in a highly matrixed environment
Act as a strategic partner to affiliate leadership teams, including senior Commercial and CE&O stakeholders
Drive adoption of scalable Patient Finding capabilities and best practices globally
Translate external innovation and industry trends into strategic recommendations and internal capabilities
Build strong collaboration across global, regional, affiliate, analytics, and external partner teams
Operate with resilience and a solutions-oriented mindset to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive change
Who You Are

Required Skills
Significant experience (10+ years) operating at a global or regional level within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
Bachelor’s degree required (BA/BS); MBA preferred
Strong background in Rare Diseases, patient journey mapping, patient identification, or related areas
Proven experience shaping strategy, influencing senior stakeholders, and leading enterprise-level initiatives
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed global organizations
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior commercial, CE&O, and affiliate leadership teams
Proven resilience and ability to drive change in evolving or ambiguous environments
Strong project and program management capabilities across complex global initiatives
Experience working with analytics-driven and AI-enabled solutions to support strategic decision-making
Analytical and consultative mindset, with the ability to translate insights into business impact
Experience managing external vendors and cross-functional partnerships globally
Strong communication, presentation, and executive influencing skills
