The objective of the Customer Facing Capabilities team is to:

• Drive standardization and continuous improvement across field operations processes

• Remove barriers between field-facing functions and accelerate best practice sharing

• Free up field teams to focus on customer engagement and commercial execution

• Clarify accountabilities for day-to-day field activities and long-term capability improvement

• Realize efficiencies and economies of scale across North America field operations

About the Job

The Associate Director, Field Effectiveness & Communications serves as the primary communications lead for Sanofi's Customer Facing Capabilities (CFC) organization, supporting North America field operations. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to develop and execute internal communication strategies that keep the field organization informed, engaged, and equipped during periods of workflow enhancement, system updates, and broader business transformation. This role plays a critical part in translating complex, technical changes into clear, actionable messaging while building the trust and alignment needed to drive adoption.

In addition, this individual will support key stakeholder engagement programs — including Field Sales Leadership feedback loops, and CFC Champion governance — ensuring that the voice of the field is heard, acted upon, and continuously integrated into CFC's ways of working.

Main Responsibilities:

Internal Communications & Change Leadership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to CFC leadership and senior business stakeholders, aligning on messaging, timing, and channels for key organizational announcements.

• Lead authentic, two-way communication of change initiatives, creating space for dialogue so field stakeholders feel heard, informed, and empowered to take ownership of transformation.

• Anticipate field reactions to change and shape messaging strategy to build understanding, trust, and genuine buy-in — using AI-generated sentiment analysis and engagement data to inform, not replace, human judgment.

• Partner cross-functionally with Change Management teams to co-develop communications strategies for strategic transformation initiatives impacting the broader field organization.

• Advise CFC on communication best practices, tone, and positioning, drawing on AI-supported research and benchmarking to strengthen recommendations.

Field Effectiveness

• Facilitate and continuously improve the Regional Business Director (RBD) / Zone Business Director (ZBD) Connect & Learn meeting series across business units, hosted by CFC.

• Re-design and govern the CFC Champion program, establishing accountability structures that maximize program impact and scalability.

• Proactively identify and escalate emerging stakeholder needs, concerns, or trends to the Director, Field Effectiveness and Operations

AI-Augmented Content Production & Analytics

• Direct and quality-control AI-assisted drafting of email announcements, newsletters, FAQs, talking points, and presentation materials - ensuring accuracy, tone, and strategic alignment before executive distribution.

• Leverage AI tools to translate complex technical and operational information into clear, audience-appropriate language for non-technical field audiences, applying final human review for nuance and brand voice.

• Oversee AI-supported development of video and multimedia content, managing production quality and authentic executive presence.

• Establish and maintain a communications cadence and calendar, using automation to manage scheduling, tracking, and follow-ups while personally prioritizing during competing demands.

• Use AI-powered analytics to measure communication effectiveness (engagement, comprehension, sentiment) and translate insights into refined strategic approaches.

• Maintain and evolve communication standards, templates, and guidelines for the CFC organization - using AI to accelerate drafting while ensuring organizational voice and consistency.

• Maintain the field-facing CFC SharePoint site, directing AI-assisted content updates and design improvements.

About You
 

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in internal communications, change management, field operations, or commercial excellence.

• Proven track record of leading communication strategies for large-scale organizational change or transformation initiatives

• Experience working with or supporting field sales organizations, preferably in a North American commercial setting

• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships at senior levels

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging

• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

• Ability to build trust and credibility with senior leadership and field-facing teams

• Strong analytical mindset with experience using data and insights to inform communication strategies

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and governance forums effectively

Technical skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)

• Experience managing SharePoint sites or similar intranet/content management platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Communications, Business Administration, or a related field

• Experience in a pharmaceutical commercial or field effectiveness function

• Experience with AI-assisted content creation and productivity tools and familiarity with AI-powered analytics platforms for measuring communication effectiveness and sentiment analysis

• Familiarity with CRM platforms and field reporting tools

• Familiarity with change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR)

• Experience designing and facilitating leadership engagement programs (e.g., advisory boards, champion networks)

• Experience with multimedia and video content production tools

• Prior experience in a matrixed, multinational organization

The salary range for this position is:

$133.500,00 - $192.833,33
