Manages the day-to-day operations for the department and the resources and workload of direct reports. Supervises a team of senior staff and/or managers within the department ensuring delivery across all project requirements. Implements strategies to ensure overall project success. May aid in business
acquisition activities.
• Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description
preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations.
• Ensures that tasks are clearly understood and completed in line with protocol,
contract, GCP and SOPs/WPDs.
• Manages workload allocation and establishing priorities for assigned project
teams; produce status reports for management and clients as required; and
ensure the quality, efficiency and timeliness of the work for assigned staff.
• Provides expert review and guidance for production of Data Management
deliverables including CRF/e-CRF (case report form), database design and setup, validation definition and programming, Data Management Plan and database deliverables to internal and external customers.
• Provides technical advice and solutions with internal and external customers to solve problems and improve efficiency.
• Monitors quality and efficiency across projects to identify trends and
opportunities for improvements. Ensures sharing of learning across projects.
• Participates in defining strategies for new processes and technology at either
regional or global level.
• Performs senior level customer communication/coordination.
• Acts as senior reviewer on multiple projcts, manages project team
resources, budget, finance, timelines and ensures SOP compliance with
appropriate documentation.
• Serves in a project oversight role management role of project oversight for
studies to represent the study(s) to all functions as needed, with client, and fully accountable for all aspects of the management of risk.
• Participates in the formation and implementation of the strategic development plans for data management.
• Promotes repeat business relationships with existing clients and is instrumental in bringing new data management business to organization through BD activities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years).5+ years of management responsibility Proven leadership skills. In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively on a multi-disciplinary
team and cross functionally with a positive attitude, enthusiasm toward work, and the ability to mentor and coach others
• Capable of delegating tasks and facilitating the completion of assignments
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with challenging/conflicting deadlines; capable of negotiating schedule changes in response to project demands
• Technical understanding of data management applications and systems
• Excellent judgment, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on extremely complex problems where analysis requires evaluating various factors
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Understanding of financial reporting process for projects and department
• Capable of driving innovation in developing new ideas related to process improvements
• Capable of independently assessing client needs and working with project team members in producing compliant deliverables
