DESCRIPTION:

The role of Accountant at PPD TW involves managing financial operations, payables, local filing, and month-end closing processes.

Roles of this position are including but not limited to:

Payables

• Ensure invoice and credit note processing aligns with PPD policies and procedures
• Prepare weekly payments
• Manage the cheque payment cancellation process from collection to bank return
• Verify Employee Expense Reports with Tax invoices, and Receipts. Make necessary adjustments in Oracle if necessary
• Check, scan and process vendor invoices for payment
• Assist in preparing vendor cost allocation by project codes such as courier invoices

Local regulation Filing

• Prepare Bi-Monthly VAT filing and supporting documents
• Handle withholding tax filing process included withholding tax payment pay slip preparation and submit withholding tax filing…etc.
• Foreign Exchange Import and Export Declaration

Month/Year End Closing

• Prepare and input journals into Oracle
• Prepare Month-End Reports, for instance PL variance analysis, Balance Sheet Recs, other financial reports and ARCS
• Prepare AP Pre-Closing bank reconciliation to make sure all payments as of last day of each month are recorded
• Annual Audit

• Coordinate tasks that are requested by auditor and tax consultant
  • Running monthly balance transfer between PLedger and SLedger in Oracle
  • Prepare and/or input journal entries for local stat adjustments (From US GAAP to TW GAAP)

• Annual Corporate Income Tax Filing
  • Reconciliation between annual WHT and General Ledger

Admin

• Monitor unpresented cheque status
• Manage cheque deposits
• Collection of Receipts and Invoices per local country statutory requirements
• Monitor Bank Transactions and working with Cash Management team to make sure transactions are posted timely in Oracle.
• Maintain “received but unpaid Tax Invoices list” for payment team
• Filing Accounting Documents
• Archive Old Ledgers, Vouchers and Documents

Other roles

• Manage vendor or employee queries
• Provide technical accounting advice or discuss new case treatment with manager
• Dealing with correspondence with other TFS/PPD departments and offices

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

• Degree in accountancy or equivalent, with specialized training in word processing, computerized databases, spreadsheets, etc.
• Minimum 5 years or above proven experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Good communication skills in Chinese
• Can do communication in Simple English
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Confidence to handle sensitive information and data effectively
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and outside vendors
• Must be accurate with good attention to detail
• Solid understanding of accounting/financial principles, regulations/legal requirements and tax regulation especially related to VAT and Withholding Tax
• Experience of an international company would be helpful
• Knowledge of Oracle is an advantage
