DILTIAZEM HYDROCHLORIDE (diltiazem hydrochloride) by Teva is mechanisms of action hypertension: diltiazem produces its antihypertensive effect primarily by relaxation of vascular smooth muscle and the resultant decrease in peripheral vascular resistance. Approved for hypertension, chronic stable angina, angina due to coronary artery spasm. First approved in 2012.
