The Vice President, Global Medical Affairs, Neuroscience is accountable for delivering integrated Global Medical Affairs strategies and operational plans that reflect the unique requirements of key regional, patient, payor (public and private), regulatory, and physician stakeholders by leading a team responsible for the development of strategic and tactical Medical Affairs plans for the TA portfolio.

• The Global Medical Affairs team is also accountable for the global data dissemination planning and execution, opinion leader and external expert engagement, medical education across the portfolio as well as global patient advocacy and engagement strategy and execution for the TA. 
• They will drive robust evidence generation and data dissemination plans that reflect the clinical differentiation of our innovative medicines in collaboration with policy and access colleagues. 
• The Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Neuroscience partners closely with Regional Medical Affairs Colleagues to develop integrated global medical affairs perspectives, strategies and plans as well as to maintain open, two-way communication to ensure regional medical affairs teams are up to date on all plans, progress milestones and decisions.  
• They will ensure comprehensive life-cycle management strategies and plans are developed and coordinated globally by the Global Medical Affairs Leader(s) (GMALs) for key assets in the NS disease areas of focus and key adjacencies. 
• The Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Neuroscience will collaborate closely with his/her R&D, Regional MAF, Global Public Health, and BD&L colleagues and have people management responsibility for assigned TA GMAL
• The VP GMAF is also member of the Labelling Committee (LC)
• GMAF representatives provide a single Medical Affairs voice into the creation of compound development and life cycle management strategies, plans and trial design from phase IIa through phase IV.  GMAF also serves as core representatives of the Safety Management team for marketed and late-stage portfolio compounds and provide support for the development of the Company risk management strategy, plans and Periodic benefit-risk assessment reports.  GMA also perform medical impact assessments as required.
• The Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Neuroscience is responsible to ensure all global activities follow J&J Compliance principles.
• The VP GMAF NS is responsible for medical oversight of GCSO-Sponsored activities which may include Market Research, Clinical Trials/Studies (Company-Sponsored, Investigator-Initiated, & Collaborative Studies), Medical Reviews of regulatory documents, and reviewing Medically Important Results (MIR), and other Research Related Activities.

• Other Duties / Tasks

• Accountable to deliver integrated Global Medical Affairs strategies and operational plans that reflect the unique requirements of key regional, patient, payor (public and private), regulatory, and physician stakeholders. 
• Drive robust data generation and dissemination plans that reflect the clinical differentiation and, in collaboration with policy and access colleagues, pharmacoeconomic value of therapeutic innovations within the NS TA
• Ensure comprehensive life-cycle management strategies and plans are developed and coordinated globally by the Global Medical Affairs Leader(s) (GMALs) for key assets in the NS disease areas of focus and key adjacencies. 
• Be responsible for driving and executing the medical strategies leading innovative approaches to population health, data-mining, predictive analytics, disease interception, and outcomes-based partnerships / pilots designed to offer integrated customer solutions in disease areas of focus. 
• This position will be responsible for the development and execution of globally and functionally integrated, consistent, and compliant approaches towards patient access, external scientific relations, medical education, and publication planning for the NS portfolio.
• Be a primary contact for external interactions with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, medical organizations, world health, partners, and consultants.
• This role will serve a critical leadership function on the GCSO NS Leadership Team, GMAF Leadership Team and the combined R&D / GCSO NS Senior Leadership Teams with accountability for TA strategic oversight with a particular focus on:
  • Portfolio prioritization and investment
  • Disease Area strategies and budgets
  • Cross-Disease Area resource allocate
  • Licensing, merger and acquisition activities
• GMAF also serves as core representatives of the Safety Management team for marketed and late stage portfolio compounds and provide support for the development of the Company risk management strategy, plans and Periodic benefit-risk assessment reports. 
• GMAF perform Medical Impact Assessments as required
• The VP, NS Global Medical Affairs will collaborate closely with R&D/GCSO colleagues, Regional MAF, and BD&L colleagues
• Provide strategic people leadership, mentorship, coaching and performance management to the team as well as lead talent strategies for a team of approximately 10-15 FTEs

• Requirements:

• Required Minimum Education:  (MD/DO/ PhD/PharmD or equivalent) required
• Required Years of Related Experience:  Minimum of10 years of relevant (post-training) pharmaceutical experience required
• Product launch experience in small molecules and biologic
• Strategic thinking and intellectual curiosity
• Ability to drive projects forward to completion through planning and organizational skills while maintaining focus on the long-term strategy
• Strong collaboration/matrix management, influencing, strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Global mindset with proven ability to partner cross culturally and regionally
• Demonstrated leadership ability to successfully work across functional and geographic boundaries, preferably across multiple countries/market types/access models
• Deep appreciation of science and ability to translate into strategy
• Demonstrated learning agility and the ability to effectively influence portfolio strategies based on insights and foresights to future scientific direction
• Proven strategic thinking and strategic commercial skills across product and lifecycle
• Ability to drive projects forward to completion through planning and organizational skills while maintaining focus on the long-term strategy
• Proven track record on ethics and Credo principles
• People Management Experience / supervisor/people management experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years people management experince
• This position is located in Raritan, NJ and follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and up to two days remote per week.

• Preferred:

• Board eligibility/certification in Neurology or Psychiatry strongly preferred
• Business experience in large and small companies
• Building Medical Affairs functions in new areas for company/industry
• Stature and standing as a medical professional capable of peer-to-peer engagement with external medical experts and thought leaders is required.  Clinical credentials (residency training, postdoctoral fellowship, Medical Specialty Board certification, current/active medical licensure, etc.) are strongly preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $242,000 to $446,200

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
