Value Stream Planner

Unlimited.</b> At Smith&#43;Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.</div><p></p><div>Join us as a <b>Value Stream Planner</b> t<span>o support manufacturing in meeting customer service requirements through the management of factory-based material movement process and generation of effective weekly Schedules and release of process orders. To review, maintain and feedback against schedules to Manufacturing, Material Planners and Supply Planners. </span>To ensure lowest cost, highest schedule attainment/efficiency within both short term and long-term planning. Identify and implement pull v push methodology in line with MFG lean/continuous improvement principles. (e.g., SPOC/Kanban). Support introduction and development of Planning KPI’s.</div><p></p><div></div><h3>What will you be doing?</h3><div><ul><li>Liaise with Manufacturing, Materials planners and Supply Planning Managers as required to ensure achievement of manufacturing plans including responding to material shortages. Key interface with these Depts including QA.</li><li>To monitor and ensure effective flow into the manufacturing line side, movement of materials and removal of returns and waste streams.</li><li>Liaise with manufacturing and Material Planners over schedule changes and prioritization.</li><li>Liaise with Material Planners on material introduction and run outs.</li><li>Provide accurate feedback to Supply Planning Managers on completion of plans against weekly schedules.</li><li>Participate in projects to improve short- and long-term planning and scheduling processes and ways of working.</li><li><span>Support new product launches, working closely with Supply Planning Managers, Materials Planning, Technical, MDM and QA </span></li><li>Refine systems, methods and processes to allow VS to better anticipate Supply challenges and minimize cost/disruption.</li><li>Support Proactive forward planning to develop the long term SIOP process and visibility of capacity, inventory and material challenges.</li><li>Collaboration with Value streams to support capacity reviews and Factory Order Fulfilment data for fixed cycle and longer term.</li><li>Support/Develop cost/service kpi’s as required by the business.</li><li>Support reviews and recommendations of changes to master data that impact OEE/Efficiency/Recoveries etc.</li><li>Work closely with factory operatives on Plan execution, including regular presence on shop floor, <span>including the Tier meetings.</span></li></ul></div><p></p><h3>What will you need to be successful?</h3><div>Success in this role means being proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to collaborate. You’ll need to understand the bigger picture while managing the finer details of planning and scheduling.</div><div></div><div>Here’s what will help you thrive:</div><ul><li>A degree in business or logistics, or equivalent experience in a similar role</li><li>Strong skills in Excel and SAP, with knowledge of ERP/MRP systems</li><li>An understanding of supply chain processes and how planning impacts operations</li><li><span>Awareness of supply chain end to end systems and processes and impact of Planning on other areas and the bigger picture (financial and operational targets). </span></li><li>A problem-solving mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities</li><li><p>Awareness of ABC Planning techniques</p></li></ul></div><p></p><h2><b>You.
