Haeger & Carlsson Executive Search and Interim is proud to support Diamyd Medical in recruiting an Upstream Process Engineer for their state-of-the-art Biologics Manufacturing facility in Umeå.
As Upstream Process Engineer, you will play a key role in the manufacturing and process development of biologics, ensuring robust and efficient upstream operations in a GMP-regulated environment. Working closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Quality and Analytical teams, you will contribute to the successful cultivation, scale-up and production of cell-based processes. The role combines hands-on laboratory and cleanroom work with scientific problem-solving and process optimization, offering an opportunity to be part of an innovative organization advancing biologics manufacturing. You will report to the Manufacturing Manager.

Key responsibilities:
Cultivate cells in shake flasks and in bioreactors.
Work in cleanrooms according to cGMP regulations.
Perform bioanalytical analyses.
Relevant background and experience:
University education in a relevant scientific discipline (pharmacy, biotechnology, bioengineering, biomedical sciences or similar) or long experience in life science industry.
Several years of work with cell cultivation.
Experienced in cell cultivation and expression vector systems.
Experience with bioanalytical techniques (such as electrophoresis, HPLC, WB, ELISA).
Experience from cell cultivation in bioreactors is a plus.
Used to work in a quality-controlled business, according to GMP, ISO is a plus.
Experience from work in clean rooms is a plus.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English
