To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Tooling Engineer located in Batu Kawan, Penang.
What a typical day looks like:
Fabricate new metal stamping tool and fabricate Jigs & Fixture for product assemblies
Tool testing and Fine Tuning to ensure tool performance at optimum level.
Prepare First Article Sample (FAI) Sample submission
Tool repair, maintenance, modification and trouble shooting
Setup tools (progressive compound and stage) to ensure that they are in good performance.
Perform set-up inspection, first piece inspection as well as subsequent inspection as required by standard inspection check sheet prior submit to IPQA for approval
To prepare first article sample and work with IPQC on timely part qualification.
Update PM record and ensure preventive maintenance carried out on schedule
Assist production dept on delivery commitments and ensure technical supports.
Evaluate tooling performance and lead constant improvement program.
Constantly monitor and optimize tool setting time.
Listing down the frequent problems of tools and suggesting permanent counter measure.
Involve in Lay out preparation and design review with tool designers as well as customer.
Prepare DFM check list and participate in DFM review meeting with customers
Prepare process mapping and assist product engineers to prepare BOM for new projects
Design modification of Existing Tools.
Update drawings and all relevant documents according to our SOP.
Evaluate quality of the tool & impact of design changes on tool.
Coordinate PFMEA & perform constent review
To train and guide Tooling makers, Tool repairers and technicians.
Assist Program Management on tooling quote requirements.
Participate in lean& Kaizen activities.
Any other duties that may be assigned to you by from time to time
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a Diploma in Tool & Die Making/ Tool & Die Engineering
At least 5 years of related experience and/or trade knowledge.
Preferably should have worked in medical molding / tooling industry
