<p><span><i><b>To apply to a Varex Imaging position, please create an account and sign-in.</b></i></span></p><p></p><p><span><b>CURRENT VAREX IMAGING EMPLOYEES: </b>Please apply by logging into your internal <u><span class="emphasis-3">Workday Account</span></u>.</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2>Summary</h2>Thin Film Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the monitoring, sustaining, and hands-on support of day-to-day thin film manufacturing processes using PVD and E-beam techniques, including providing technical support to ensure process reliability; verifying process robustness with characterization of process latitudes through experimentation; improving the efficiency of deposition; developing and implementing practices or methodologies which reduce cost and improve operational efficiency; conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective action; and improving production yields via process/tool manufacturability optimization.<br>* This is a manufacturing position not a research position.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2>Job Description</h2><p><b><span>Essential Functions</span></b></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Monitors, sustains, and hands on support of day-to-day thin film manufacturing processes, programs, and activities for Cesium Iodide:Thallium Iodide scintillator deposition using various PVD tools and Aluminum deposition using EBPVD</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Troubleshooting of vacuum and deposition equipment</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Statistical characterization of data populations</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Understanding controllers, data monitoring and programming them</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Ensures process reliability by providing technical support to operators, technicians, and other engineers</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Runs qualification of processes for manufacturing</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Improves the efficiency of deposition processes analyzing data, conducting experiments, and researching alternative methods which reduce scrap</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Designs and conducts advanced experiments to verify process robustness with characterization of process latitudes</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Develops and implements practices or methodologies which lower cost, reduce cycle time, and improve operational efficiency</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective action if required</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Responds to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) to analyze product quality data; develops charts or reports and presents findings before groups or teams</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>Minimum Qualifications</span></b></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, OR Chemistry, Materials Science, or Physics</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>8&#43; years of hands on experience working in thin film fabrication optical or semiconductor industry in manufacturing or process engineering role (preferred: Cesium Iodide: Thallium Iodide scintillator experience, Optical Thin Film coatings)</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Strong experience using PVD/EBPVD and other thin film deposition techniques or processes.</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Analytical skills in SEM characterization and defect/failure analysis.</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Experience in deposition tool specification and development.</span></p><p><span><span>·<span>        </span></span></span><span>Experience with production software such as SAP/MES.
