If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><h2>Job Summary</h2><p>To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a <b><span>Senior Mechanical Test Development Engineer</span></b> located onsite in <b><span>Austin, TX</span></b></p><p></p><p><b><span>What a typical day looks like:</span></b></p><ul><li>Design and develop test mechanisms for printed circuit board assemblies and High Level Assemblies.</li><li>Develop full turnkey Automated Test Equipment mechanical solutions using manual, semi-automated and automated mechanical techniques are required by the customer.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure product compliance with specifications and standards.</li><li>Create a complete CAD package for testers including Assembly Drawings as required.</li><li>Interface with vendors and machine shops to fabricate mechanical components.</li><li>Create mechanical Bills of Material for designed equipment.</li><li>Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing technologies and manufacturing techniques.</li><li>Work with CNC router to produce mechanical components.</li><li>Research techniques for robust mechanical / electrical interfaces to a variety of connection types.</li><li>Interface with customers to resolve issues related to product.</li><li>Occasionally design / layout custom fixture interface boards.</li><li>Work with electrical engineers on overall test strategy.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>The experience we’re looking to add to our team:</span></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.</li><li><i>Must have</i> experience designing electromechanical fixtures and mechanical mechanisms</li><li><i>Must have</i> PCBA or high level assembly fixturing experience</li><li><i>Must have</i> 8+ years of experience in mechanical testing, product development, or a related field.</li><li>Previous experience with Solid Works creating both 2D and 3D designs <i>*required*</i></li><li>Familiarity with automated test equipment methods and techniques.</li><li>Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical testing (automotive, medical, aerospace)</li><li>Experience with Auto CAD software (or similar) and simulation tools is a plus.</li><li>CNC setup and operation knowledge</li><li>Experience with PCBA layout software is a plus</li></ul><p></p><p>JS21</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>What you'll receive for the great work you provide:</b></p><ul><li>Full range of medical, dental, and vision plans</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>Short-term and Long-term Disability</li><li>Matching 401(k) Contributions</li><li>Vacation and Paid Sick Time</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Job Category</h2>Design, Process & Technology Engineering<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Is Sponsorship Available?</p>No<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Flex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
