A Territory Sales Manager in a medical device company is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and managing customer relationships within a defined geographic area. The role combines sales leadership, market development, and account management to achieve both short-term targets and long-term strategic goals.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, including lead generation, opportunity development, customer engagement, negotiation, and order closure.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across hospitals, clinics, distributors, and healthcare institutions to expand the customer base and market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Neurosurgeons, Spine Surgeons, ENT Doctors, Plastic Surgeons, Head & Neck Surgeons, Pain Physicians, Biomedical teams, Purchase teams, and local channel partners.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions for healthcare professionals, OT staff, and Biomedical teams; understand customer needs and provide tailored product solutions.
- Address customer queries and concerns, coordinating with relevant internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Plan and execute regular field visits and sales calls across HQ, extended, and outstation markets to ensure effective territory coverage; represent the company at relevant trade shows and industry events.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer insights, and business opportunities to develop strategies that strengthen market position and maintain or grow market share.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, performance reports, and market analyses to senior management while ensuring compliance with company policies, sales processes, and applicable regulatory requirements.
What You Need
- Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in medical device sales, preferably within neurosurgical medical devices, implants, and consumables.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the medical device industry, healthcare systems, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
- Sales Track Record: Proven ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets, revenue goals, and business objectives.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
- Customer & Relationship Management: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain customer relationships, drive retention, and acquire new accounts.
- Analytical & Business Skills: Ability to analyze market data, identify business and growth opportunities, understand competitive trends, and develop effective sales strategies.
- Mobility & Compliance: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and ensure adherence to company policies, sales processes, and applicable regulatory requirements.
