Technical Services Veterinarian - Livestock

The Technical Services Veterinarian, Livestock provides technical support for assigned products and geography in New Zealand. Field-based role reporting to the Technical Services Lead, Livestock.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include, however not limited to:

  • Provide technical comparisons vs competitors and highlight product benefits

  • Deliver timely technical support and on-the-job training to the sales team

  • Identify and close knowledge gaps within the sales team

  • Work with Territory Managers to identify market needs and develop local strategies

  • Advise farmers, resellers and veterinarians on correct product use

  • Respond to technical enquiries and source required information

  • Produce technical writing including trial reports, articles and bulletins

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, veterinary medicine and farming practice

  • Monitor competitor technical developments and advise Technical Manager of impacts

  • Lead investigation and resolution of adverse events and manage PV casework per policy

  • Accompany sales on customer visits and provide product, disease and systems training to sales, marketing and customer service teams

  • Design and run marketing trials, analyse data and coordinate publication with R&D

  • Support R&D projects with field assistance, technical evaluations and regulatory input

  • Liaise with veterinarians, research groups, MPI contacts, distributors and end users

  • Provide technical input on complaints and adverse reactions

  • Maintain and develop technical manuals and training materials

  • Represent the business in industry technical forums and educational presentations

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Acts, policies and procedures

What You Must have

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science essential

  • Extensive proven prior experience in the livestock veterinary industry essential, preferably in New Zealand

  • Experience in the Animal Health industry preferred

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills

  • Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Role will require approximately 60% travel.
