Technical Lead – Foundational Data

<p style="text-align:left">Job Description</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>The Technical Lead for the Data Platform is responsible for overseeing the delivery of data platform solutions and technical standards. This role drives leading a team for successful implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical excellence.</span></p><p></p><h2><span>Primary Responsibilities</span></h2><ul><li><p><span><b>Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines</b> to extract data from diverse sources and populate the data lake and data warehouse.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Develop data transformation rules and data modeling capabilities</b> to support business requirements.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Collaborate with Product Analysts, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers</b> to identify and transform data, making it understandable and actionable.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Work with the data governance team</b> to implement data quality checks and maintain data catalogs.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Utilize orchestration, logging, and monitoring tools</b> to build resilient, production-grade pipelines.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Apply test-driven development methodology</b> when building ELT/ETL pipelines.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Analyze data</b> to support business insights and reporting.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Use Git for version control</b> and understand various branching strategies.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Participate as part of an agile team</b>, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.</span></p></li><li><p><span><b>Create technical documentation</b> as needed to support platform operations and onboarding.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h2><span>Technical Leadership</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Provide guidance on architecture, design, and implementation of cloud-based data platforms.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and operations teams to ensure best practices are followed.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Drive adoption of modern data technologies and frameworks.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Translate business requirements into technical deliverables.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans effectively to stakeholders.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in data modeling and data mapping.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h2><span>Governance &amp; Compliance</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory standards.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Implement monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h2><span>Team Leadership</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h2><span>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Strong knowledge of<b> data platforms</b> (e.g., AWS, Azure Data Services, Databricks).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficiency in data engineering concepts: <b>ETL</b>, <b>data modeling</b>, <b>streaming</b>, <b>APIs</b>.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with <b>CI/CD</b> and <b>DevOps </b>practices.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Solid experience with AWS services (<b>S3</b>, <b>IAM</b>, <b>Redshift</b>, <b>Sagemaker</b>, <b>Glue</b>, <b>Lambda</b>, <b>Step Functions</b>,<b> </b><b>CloudWatch</b>).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with platforms like <b>Databricks</b>, <b>Dataiku</b>.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficient in <b>Python / Java </b>and <b>SQL </b>(Redshift preferred).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with <b>Jenkins</b>, <b>CloudFormation</b>, <b>Terraform</b>, <b>Git</b>, <b>Docker</b>.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with <b>Spark</b>/<b>PySpark.</b></span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience using <b>Airflow for orchestration</b>.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to work in cross-functional teams.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent communication and stakeholder management.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><h2><span>Education &amp;
