The Position

As Team Lead Engineering Commercial Pharma International Engagement Lead (CRM, Field, VOC, Events) (Senior Engineering Manager) you will focus on capabilities development of your team members that align with the function’s vision. You will encourage your team to self-define their career journey and seek ways to enable development opportunities in the direction of the journey. You will support them in removing roadblocks and by setting focus in their performance management. You make sure to develop your team with the right skills, healthy dynamics and a sustainable pace. You support the software and/or service delivery as a leader setting focus, removing impediments, managing stakeholders and creating efficiencies in collaboration wherever possible. 

Description of the area

This role serves as the engagement lead for end-to-end customer engagement within the Pharma International region, encompassing the strategic oversight of CRM, Voice of Customer (VoC), and field integration. As a specialized ecosystem, the CRM space is designed to streamline relationships with healthcare professionals and patients while ensuring strict regulatory compliance across global markets. The system centralizes stakeholder data to enable personalized, omnichannel engagement across digital and in-person channels, supported by automated processes such as strategic account planning and sample management. By integrating VoC insights directly into these workflows, the platform ensures that field teams can refine their account strategies based on real-time customer feedback and preferences. Beyond execution, the CRM acts as a strategic hub for data-based insights, utilizing dashboards to monitor how effectively the organization is delivering on its customer-centricity goals while maintaining audit-ready documentation for legal requirements. Ultimately, this environment breaks down departmental silos to foster seamless collaboration between sales, marketing, and medical teams through a unified source of truth.

  • Manages the talent composition for own and related teams, planning for future needs and ensuring a healthy pipeline of skills.

  • Responsible for co-creating the long-term technical vision and strategy for a product portfolio, partnering with Product Managers and Leaders who are overall responsible for the roadmaps.

  • Accountable for the overall delivery performance and successful shipment of features across a product, holding teams accountable for their results.

  • Manages technical and delivery priorities and dependencies across a portfolio of products or services, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

  • Resolves complex, cross-functional impediments that block progress for multiple development teams or entire groups of development teams (e.g. agile release trains or program teams).

  • Manages relationships with senior-level stakeholders across multiple product areas, negotiating technical and delivery priorities.

  • Drives initiatives to improve engineering processes and collaboration models across a whole product group or department.

• Performance & Optimization ⏫

  • Defines and analyzes success metrics, identifying cross-team technical and delivery optimization opportunities and trends.

  • Presents technical and delivery  insights and optimization strategies to senior leadership, influencing decision-making and investment for a product portfolio.

  • Leads significant process re-engineering efforts that span multiple development teams or multiple groups of development teams to create step-change improvements in performance.

• Financial & Resource Mgmt.📈

  • Supports the development of business cases for large initiatives or new product lines, working with product and finance partners to justify investment.

  • Manages resource allocation across multiple projects, making trade-offs to optimize for portfolio-level goals and strategic priorities.

  • Manages the team's budget, including headcount, operational costs, and vendor contracts, ensuring financial responsibility.

Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in people leadership, product/service management, program management, or a similar role, with a proven track record of building high performing teams

• 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare technology industry

Education

• Bachelor or advanced degree  

• Business or IT specification 

Technical & business skills

• Understanding of software development and/or service delivery methodologies

• Understanding of solution, information and process architecture

• Ability to create clarity about outcomes generated by teams

Additional Qualifications 

• Extensive experience in Veeva CRM and the broader Veeva Vault ecosystem, with a deep understanding of how these tools are configured to meet pharmaceutical-specific business needs.

• Proven track record in end-to-end CRM product management, from initial discovery and roadmap strategy through to global deployment and post-launch optimization.

• Deep healthcare or life sciences industry experience, specifically navigating the complexities of HCP engagement, patient journeys, and medical-legal-regulatory (MLR) requirements.

• Strong proficiency in data-driven decision-making, including experience with CRM analytics, closed-loop measurement, and translating raw data into actionable "Voice of the Customer" insights.

• Solid understanding of global privacy and compliance standards, ensuring all CRM activities and data collection methods adhere to international regulations and transparency laws.
