The Systems Engineering Team of GE HealthCare Austria is responsible for image quality optimizations, development of acoustic simulation systems, performing measurements in a certified laboratory, integrating new ultrasound probe in our ultrasound console and future platform developments of our high-end medical ultrasound products. In this position, you will be responsible for optimizations of new ultrasound technology.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering team
• Conduct performance measurements along the processing pipeline of an ultrasound system
• Analyze measurement data to evaluate key performance metrics and derive actionable conclusions
• Document findings and analyses clearly to support further project development and decision-making

Your Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Medical Engineering, or a related field
• Comfortable working with Windows operating systems and common software tools (e.g., PowerPoint, development environments/IDEs)
• Basic programming experience in C, C++, Python, or MATLAB
• Basic understanding of commonly used technical concepts and terms (e.g. digital and analog signals, signal frequency, filters, transmitters & receivers, ...)
• Fluency in German and English

Duration: 3-4 months
Internship compensation is determined in accordance with the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry and varies depending on the student’s grade level and assigned duties.
