Sr.Transport Coordinator is working in the field of maintaining and improving efficient international transport logistics processes and networks. Transport/Carrier management is closely linked to the Control Tower and CFT teams, which provides end-to-end transport and supply chain services to international customers with the aim of controlling and optimizing supply chains (cost, quality, and effectiveness). We are managing 4Pl and 3Pl services. The position is part of the (site) transportation team and reports to the Procurement & Transportation Manager.
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Transport planning and Coordination:
Coordinate and monitor daily transportation operations.
Ensure optimal carrier utilization and transport capacity management.
Manage shipment schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
Monitor service performance and proactively resolve operational disruptions.
Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, customers, and internal departments.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company procedures.
Maintain accurate transport records and documentation.
Carrier Management:
Monitor, evaluate and report carrier performance through established KPIs.
Manage service quality, on-time delivery performance, and issue resolution.
Escalate operational concerns and drive corrective actions with transport partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics partners.
Carrying out improvement projects with carriers.
Performing costs and benchmark analyses.
Preparation and hosting carrier MBR’s and QBR’s
Actively participating in customer MBR’s and QBR’s
Assess and implement transport solutions of (potential) new carriers and customers.
Process improvement and Cost Optimization:
Participate in projects as Transportation representative.
Testing, implementing, new transport processes and describe processes in SLA /SOP.
Supporting RFQs for existing or new customers
Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
Analyze transportation data and operational performance metrics.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Optimize route planning, load utilization, and carrier allocation strategies.
Support transportation digitization and automation projects.
What you’ll need to have to be successful and happy in this role:
Bachelor/master’s degree in related field such as Supply Chain Mgt., Transport, Logistics.
Have at least 5-10 years work experience in logistics and transport mgt.
Proven experience in coordinating domestic and international transport activities.
Experience with carrier management and transportation performance monitoring
Demonstrable knowledge with all modes of transport, specific knowledge of air / road/ e-commerce business is an advantage.
Good knowledge of Transport Management Systems.
Solid knowledge of carriers analyzing and sourcing.
Experienced with contract negotiations with carriers and/or other logistics providers.
Good command of the English and Dutch language
Result-oriented, team player with a good sense of initiative and urgencies are some of your characteristics
