How will you make an impact?

The Sr. Project Manager (PM) will provide end to end project and program management leadership (concept to completion) through the BioProduction Strategic Project and Portfolio Management Team, fully owning the mechanisms which ensure successful delivery. The PM will lead cross-functional projects and programs with diverse internal teams ranging from Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, Human Resources, and Customer Excellence to meet business objectives and metrics. In this role, the PM will partner with Executive Sponsors to drive the execution of key strategic initiatives that span across the Biologics and Chemicals Division (BCD). The successful PM will set-up and supervise the overall schedule, communicate decision needs, control the budget, and monitor and report the progress of phases and achievement of milestones.

What will you do?

                                              

  • Own end to end success of the project/program, ensuring accountability, execution of timelines, and continuous change management to deliver on-time results
  • Ensure that all project/programs are delivered  within scope and budget
  • Develop project/program scopes and objectives, involving all relevant cross-functional stakeholders and ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Identify key issues and risks, recommend options which are supported by a clear fact set and analysis, facilitate and negotiate individual and team decisions. Requires an understanding of stakeholder motivations, , impacts to the organization, and when to escalate issues to higher levels of management
  • Develop detailed project/program plans to track progress and action logs
  • Lead project/program execution to ensure standard Project Management best practices are deployed
  • Measure project/program performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project/program documentation and prepare reports for leadership
  • Experience with challenging the current thought process of staff and status quo of business processes
  • Effectively influence project/program team members and project/program sponsor

Education

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Science/Technical/Business discipline or equivalent experience

How will you get here?

  • 8+ years of) project/program management and team leadership experience with proven track record in successfully leading project/programs from start to finish
  • Experience leading complex project/programs spanning over 6+ months
  • Experience managing project/program budgets (CAPEX & OPEX) over $500k
  • Experience managing project/programs that are scoped to return $2M + of benefit (NPV, Revenue Generation, Savings ect.) back to the business
  • Ability to interface with varied audiences including senior leadership, influence, and to work effectively in a matrix environment across different functional areas (product management, R&D, finance, commercial, operations, HR, etc.)
  • Ability to manage 2+  global project/programs and interface effectively with team members and across different departments and time zones
  • Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Relevant experience with Lean / Six Sigma experience in an industrial environment is beneficial

  • Ability to work with peers at similar levels of the organization and report project/program status to Executive Leadership
  • Strong familiarity with project management standards and methodologies including PMI Body of Knowledge
  • Effective oral and written communication and executive presentation skills
  • Process oriented and structured working style and capable of handling multiple project/programs simultaneously
  • Well organized with the ability to work under pressure and deliver work to highest standard
  • Results-oriented team player who can build strong professional relationships
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, utilizing a disciplined approach to critical thought
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational influence skills
  • Strong attention to detail, time management

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $93,800.00–$140,675.00.
