If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2>Job Summary</h2><p><span>To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Process Engineering Manager located in Bukit Minyak, Penang.<br />Reporting to the Director, Operations Engineering the Sr. Process Engineering Manager will be focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to hold up a manufacturing organization. Improving process engineering capabilities and managing projects deployment across Core Industrial sites, will ensure the technical feasibility, ROI and execution on time.</span></p><p></p><p></p><p><span><b>What a typical day looks like:</b></span></p><ul><li><p><span>Lead initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve efficiencies.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to analyze process parameters, troubleshot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work closely with engineering site leaders, to deploy process and quality improvements.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Drive continuous improvement process to increase yields and reduce defects.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Conduct process validation and optimization activities, including DOE (Design of Experiments) studies, process capability analysis, to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance process robustness.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, cycle time and production floor layout.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Provides process recommendations for technical and cost perspective.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Lead process engineering activities with senior stakeholders.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Define manufacturing process flow and type of equipment to be used for NPIs, focusing on high quality standard and productivity.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Define, develop, and deploy automation cost effective automation solution into Flex sites.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Review RFQ’s and evaluate supplier quotations to obtain the best combination of technical solution, cost and timing.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Develop budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them. Able to quickly cost evaluate and work up the financial justification for automation.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers and sites.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Draft protocols and support equipment qualification activities.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Support on new product development and automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly automated cells at NPI stage and ensure to meet development timeline.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation. Conduct meetings with sites and provide detailed recommendations for issue resolutions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Participate in design reviews and provide status reports as per established schedule.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Prepare and maintain documentation related to the processes improvements.</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>The experience we’re looking to add to our team</b></p><p></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s Degree in engineering electronics, mechatronics or related field is required</p></li><li><p>A Master's degree is preferred</p></li><li><p>Prefer 5 years and above working experiences in Process Engineering and Automation</p></li><li><p>Experience in PCBA Manufacturing Processes and improving methods.</p></li><li><p>Project Management planning skills.</p></li><li><p>Solid experience in the electronics manufacturing process, such as SMT, backend (PTH) and Box Build), including equipment, materials and tooling (stencil and fixtures).</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of tools like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, to drive improvement initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Strong background in mechanical assembly, chassis integration, PCB assembly and PMFEA.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of Test (X-Ray, ICT, FVT, BI), Failure Analysis and Repair process for electronic manufacturing.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with industry quality standards like IPC and J-STD-001.</p></li><li><p>Experience managing automated processes within schedule and budgetary parameters.</p></li><li><p>Must have experience in electro-mechanical assemblies and process troubleshooting.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Industry 4.0 automation.</p></li><li><p>SPC interpretation and analysis, advanced skills in Minitab, Excel and Power Point</p></li><li><p>Digitalization and control.</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer contact and collaboration with cross-functional teams.</p></li><li><p>People management.</p></li><li><p>Advanced English.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>What you’ll receive for the great work you provide: </span></b></p><ul><li><p>Life Insurance</p></li><li><p>Medical Benefits</p></li><li><p>Allowances and Bonuses</p></li><li><p>Paid Time-Off</p></li></ul><p></p><p>KJ19</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><h2>Job Category</h2>Production Engineering<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>Required Skills:</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Optional Skills:</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>Flex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
