You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.<h1>A Day in the Life</h1>Careers that Change Lives A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:<ul><li>Primary responsibility is to become the subject matter expert for assigned contract manufacturers.</li><li>Utilize knowledge of Medtronic’s networked organization to ensure the proper resources are engaged to address issues raised by assigned contract manufacturers.</li><li>Work with the Supply Chain organization and contract manufacturer to prioritize production schedules based on Medtronic needs.</li><li>Setup and maintain Operational Reviews with assigned contract manufacturers.</li><li>Manage & drive Run the Business activities with contract manufacturing sites to achieve Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance expectations </li><li>Coordinate the establishment and tracking of key metrics at the contract manufacturer (Quality, Delivery & Cost)</li><li>Conduct capacity planning with contract manufacturers</li><li>Provide manufacturing/operations direction for implementation of sourcing & distribution strategies</li><li>Identify and coordinate process improvement projects that have measurable impact on manufacturing quality, cost, and operational efficiency </li><li>Makes recommendations on capital expenditures.</li><li>Document contract manufacturers’ cost savings ideas for implementation by Medtronic.</li><li>Assess contract manufacturer’s current state of operations and develop appropriate improvement plans aligned with MPS processes.</li><li>Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication Skills.</li><li>Functional Skills: Machining and Manufacturing Technologies, Proficient computer skills, Data Science and Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement, Managing Quality.</li><li>Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or government regulations.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li><li>Travel requirement: 25-30%</li></ul>QualificationsMust Have: Minimum Requirements<ul><li>Fluent in English and Mandarin</li><li>Willing to work half time evening hours for meetings with US coworkers</li><li>Bachelor’s degree required</li><li>Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience</li><li>Experience in manufacturing and/or manufacturing support functions</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills</li><li>Demonstrated working knowledge of Medical Device Industry standards</li><li>Application experience with Lean Sigma, Six Sigma</li><li>Program management experience</li><li>Supplier performance management experience</li><li>Virtual and matrix management </li></ul> Nice to Have<ul><li>Other Asian language fluency</li><li>10+ years medical device manufacturing experience or contract manufacturing management</li><li>Experience with project and cost center budgets</li><li>Global Collaboration and Engagement experience</li><li>Certified Six Sigma Black Belt </li><li>Excellent x-functional leadership, cross-geography & interpersonal skills</li><li>High customer focus and understanding of customer needs</li><li>Solid Financials Skills</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of employees</li><li>Technically competent and able to provide clear direction to engineers and technicians </li></ul>About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
