What You’ll Do
As a highly skilled technician, this position will troubleshoot equipment issues to a degree of complexity, involving engineering staff or supervisor when necessary. This position will set up, run, and maintain manufacturing equipment and assembly processes; monitor and check product quality and document results in strict adherence to SOPs, MPIs, WIs, and other protocols. An individual in this role will support production operations by assisting manufacturing staff, performing equipment training, identifying constraints to production flow, and finding non-value-added activities to eliminate. This role will improve the production operation by suggesting improvements to tooling, measurement, material management and procedures, minimizing downtime on the production lines.- Implement tooling and manufacturing aids to improve productivity of manufacturing personnel.
- Identify bottlenecks on the line and help to optimize product flow through them.
- Capture data from production or engineering activities on the line and summarize for analysis.
- Build prototypes and evaluate new design ideas and processes or current product enhancements.
- Update manufacturing procedures to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs), verify functionality of safety equipment and adhere to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products, and test subassemblies for functionality and/or quality. Maintain workspace and equipment cleanliness.
- Participate in manufacturing team meetings to ensure communication between members.
- Prepare equipment and materials to meet production and schedule requirements.
- Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for productivity and quality.
- Build product subassemblies, final assemblies, and packaging for finished products.
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to approved and released specifications.
- Adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as callipers, micrometres, height gauges, ring gauges or other appropriate instruments.
- Assist engineers to develop, build, or test prototypes, new products, processes, or procedures.
- Maintain production documents such as production logs, procedures, manufacturing batch records, inventory reports, or productivity reports.
- Install new equipment and measure and record data associated with operating the equipment.
- Transfer hazardous/non-hazardous waste materials to areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse.
What You’ll Bring- A minimum of 4 years related experience in the medical device industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Knowledge of and exposure to product manufacturing, testing, and data collection.
- Should possess strong math skills.
- Familiar with GMP, GDP procedures and requirements.
- Ability to work independently or in team setting required.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment (hot boxes, adhesives, soldering, bonding, fuse joining) and testing techniques: tensile, simulated use testing, or tests related to assigned projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office products.
- Good interpersonal skills, effective interaction with Operations and other departments.

Salary Range: $79,000 – 86,000 / annually
