Sr Financial Analyst - Strategy & Portfolio Management

As part of a team, and through best in class, data-driven analytics, this role will partner and/or lead cross-functional teams for strategic and tactical decision making; will be a lead role in generating financial insights in short term and long term strategic global results, with focus on efficient capital allocation. This role will have responsibility for developing leading financial business case dialog for major R&amp;D investments and new business development. In addition, this position will be the finance lead for strategy and new business opportunities.<p><b><span>As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for</span></b><span>: </span></p><p></p><ul><li><span>Guiding the analysis of financial results to determine accuracy and completeness of information.</span></li><li><span>Developing various financial reports and reviews with management on financial plans and budgets. Specific tasks include determining and discussing financial analysis at very complex levels including rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, budgeting, and financial and expense performance comparisons.</span></li><li><span>Guiding and maintaining conformance to IFRS requirements, and driving discussions with internal and external auditors</span></li><li><span>Driving and optimizing financial performance for R&amp;D  and Capital investment projects and making recommendations to management about specific actions needed to deliver on targets using data-driven decision-making process, aligning organization and collaborating with stakeholders on a monthly basis to implement targeted performance improvement. Specific analytics include monthly forecast and actual variances as well as longer term strategic trends, gathering and evaluating key project activities and status impacting forecasts to senior management team.</span></li><li><span>Conducting Financial Project Plans for ongoing and new R&amp;D projects</span></li><li><span>Ad-hoc analysis to help the business understand a return on investment (ensuring future benefit is aligned with cost &amp; effort to realize)</span></li><li><span>Analyzing product profitability in short term and longer term trends,  highlighting key insights and recommendations to portfolio management team regarding product life cycle costs</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Capabilities for the role:</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business</span></li><li><span>Experience: 5-10 years of progressive analytical and controlling experience, with demonstrated career progression in a similar environment.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Competencies:</span></b></p><p></p><ul><li><span>Ability to distill business processes and results into actionable information and storyline for senior leadership, very strong presentation skills.</span></li><li><span>The candidate must possess the ability to proactively engage internal customers at various levels of the organization, facilitate healthy channels for communications, and successfully support the R&amp;D and Portfolio management teams in understanding actual performance as well as future strategic impacts.</span></li><li><span>Very good communication and networking skills, result, and quality orientation as well as a pro-active attitude, including an appropriate intercultural sensitivity and ability to establish virtual networks across cultures and locations.</span></li><li><span>Excellent team player: Ability to manage horizontal teams and lead cross-functional effort. Have worked with cross functional disciplines and coordination of business operations, finance, accounting, audit and external personnel across various levels</span></li><li><span>Knowledge and experience in project management. Strong attention to detail and strong analytical ability</span></li><li><span>Displays excellent business acumen and understanding of complex organizational structures, reporting structures &amp; process and the budget and forecast process.</span></li><li><span>Strong systems skill in SAP, expert Excel and PowerPoint capabilities</span><span>.</span></li><li><span>Knowledge and experience in project management. Strong attention to detail and strong analytical ability</span></li><li><span>SAP experience, including SAP BW (Data Warehouse reporting).</span></li><li><span>Be well versed with Healthcare R&amp;D developmental methodology as well as the global Point of Care Diagnostics Healthcare industry</span></li><li><span>Understand and apply the concept of intangible capitalization of development projects and its impact on the P&amp;L, Balance Sheet, and Cash flow Statement</span></li><li><span>Display ability to optimize and standardize process workflows and have a track record of driving business improvements based on prior experience.</span></li><li><span>Provide peer mentorship to team members to proactively share knowledge to promote and foster talent within Finance team</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Capabilities for the role:</span></b></p><p></p><ul><li><span>Preference towards candidates that have worked in an international business setting and have experiences working and communicating with multiple cultures</span></li><li><span>Strong experience with data analytics tools </span></li><li><span>Experience in Healthcare business and having a good understanding of Healthcare Industry dynamics, with a special focus on Healthcare diagnostics</span></li></ul><p></p><p><span>Position reports directly to Head of Finance,  Strategy &amp; Portfolio Management and is based in Walpole, MA USA  or Hybrid work location in the US.
