We’re seeking an organized Dock Specialist to manage shipping and receiving operations. You'll be the point of contact for customers and carriers, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all dock and shipping activities.Shift Time:Monday through Friday8:00 am to 5:00 pm<h2>A day in the Life:</h2><ul><li>Generate, verify, and match shipping labels with incoming packages to ensure accuracy.</li><li>Maintain awareness of current SDS and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ensure compliance.</li><li>Identify order discrepancies and raise to appropriate personnel.</li><li>Ensure all incoming and outgoing packages are scanned accurately for inventory control.</li><li>Safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts to move heavy packages and pallets.</li><li>Ensure proper handling and placement of items to prevent damage.</li><li>Coordinate the delivery of materials to the appropriate locations.</li><li>May perform other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Keys to Success:</h2><h2></h2><h2>Education</h2><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Experience</h2><ul><li>2-3 years of work experience in material handling: warehousing, shipping, and/or receiving is required.</li><li>CAL OSHA PIT certification is required</li><li>Significant experience/daily operating a PIT is preferred</li><li>DOT/IATA Certification preferred.</li><li>Title22 Hazmat shipping training is not required, but nice to have</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</h2><ul><li>Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).</li><li>Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.</li><li>Proficient in reading and interpreting shipping labels (DOT labeling), with the ability to be trained in the operation of pallet jacks and lift gates</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Physical Requirements / Work Environment </h2>The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is often required. The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments.
