Sr. Director, FP&A

<p>Location/Region: USA – Framingham, MA</p><p>Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Global Vice President, Finance &amp; IT</p><p></p><p><b>Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required </b><b>Interactions: </b></p><p></p><p>The leader of Global Financial Planning &amp; Analysis is a detail oriented and hands-on role that will report to the CFO overseeing budgets/ forecasts and will provide strategic direction to SCIEX’s long-term planning regarding FP&amp;A matters. The candidate will work across functions to produce strategic financial analysis for several global businesses and associated functions, in addition to other core responsibilities.</p><ul><li><p>Reporting directly to the CFO/VP Finance &amp; IT and working closely with the executive team, the candidate will be tasked with improving company performance through careful identification and management of business trends.</p></li><li><p>Oversee Corporate level FP&amp;A: lead all processes, delegating key areas to analysts as needed, and coordinating global, business level FP&amp;A teams to consolidate top-level results</p><ul><li><p>Lead Strategic Financial Process including projecting 3-year trends</p></li><li><p>Lead global Annual Budgeting</p></li><li><p>Maintain rolling forecasts for current year results on monthly basis</p></li><li><p>Identify and manage risk in forecasted revenue, OP and Working Capital, providing key recommendations to counter measure any risk identified</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Oversee Financial Systems and Business Intelligence teams</p></li><li><p>Coordinate cross-functional awareness of business trends and decision support by interfacing with key leaders in finance and business stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Lead monthly business reviews with regional and business unit groups to report on performance vs. forecast, budget and prior periods</p></li><li><p>Develop metrics on key operating processes and enhance internal reporting dashboards</p></li><li><p>Create and provide analytical support for presentation materials, including Office of the Chief Executive meetings discussion materials and presentations</p></li><li><p>Assist with special projects, including financial modeling of potential acquisitions and open innovation projects</p></li><li><p>Ensure the seamless integration of back-office activities generated from future acquisitions</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Controllership function in business support and analysis, as required</p></li><li><p>Advocate and champion continuous improvement within the functional area as well as throughout the organization.  Participate in Kaizens / skill development opportunities across the platform and throughout the broader corporation.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>A successful candidate:</b></p><ul><li><p>Must demonstrate proficiency in FP&amp;A in a fast-paced, success-driven organization that operates with the mantra &#34;Best Team Wins!&#34;</p></li><li><p>Will have the presence to challenge the status quo, elevate issues and keep their supervisor advised of current and evolving matters.</p></li><li><p>Must be capable of operating independently, but readily seek the counsel of others, when necessary.</p></li><li><p>Can balance the demands of financial accuracy with operational effectiveness.</p></li><li><p>Will seek opportunities to provide financial counsel to other functional areas in support of the organizations immediate and longer-term objectives.</p></li><li><p>Will possess solid oral/written communication skills and advanced analysis skills.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education and/or Work Experience Requirements</b>:</p><ul><li><p>BS/BA in Accounting/Finance</p></li><li><p>10&#43; years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles, preferably in a $1B-multinational or publicly-traded organization possessing manufacturing operations.  Life Science experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>CPA and/or MBA preferred</p></li><li><p>Desired software expertise — Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), mastery in Excel</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Additional Requirements</b>:</p><ul><li><p>Travel – 25%</p></li></ul><p></p><p>SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
