Description
The Specialist (Hardware) supports the production and assembly of advanced medical devices. This role involves a combination of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing skills to ensure proper assembly of components, subassemblies, and systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with adhesives, potting materials, mechanical assemblies, and complex electromechanical systems.
- Perform precision electro-mechanical assembly of medical device components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Mix and apply adhesives, sealants, and potting compounds following safety, process, and quality standards.
- Assemble and test complex mechanisms and carts, including wiring, alignment, and mechanical integration.
- Read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure assemblies meet dimensional and functional specifications.
- Safely operate tools such as torque drivers, soldering stations, epoxy dispensers, and measuring instruments.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve assembly or design issues.
- Maintain documentation and records for traceability and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly or manufacturing, preferably in the medical device or regulated industry.
- Familiarity with adhesives, potting materials, and fluid handling techniques.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Experience with ESD-safe practices.
- Experience with capital equipment and piezo devices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Comfort working with small components under magnification when required.
