<p style="text-align:left">Job Description</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>The FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Specialist for Asia Pacific works closely with markets to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis, reporting to the FP&A Lead of Asia Pacific. This role has a focus on continuous improvement and process enhancement, working alongside the local finance teams, Regional Finance COE and business stakeholders. </span><br /><br /><br /><span>Primary Responsibilities: detailed responsibilities may vary depending on the specific APAC market the candidate will support (Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong)</span><br /><br /><span>Financial Planning and Forecasting: </span><br /><br /><span>Collaborate with finance team & business units to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts. </span><br /><br /><span>Include forecast data from Finance Business Partners and support areas into company forecasting systems; validating planning assumptions & ensuring accuracy of planning inputs (gross to net, pricing, sales units, expenses and headcount) </span><br /><br /><span>Provide additional support to Finance Business Partners during forecast cycles. </span><br /><br /><span>Financial Analysis and Reporting </span><br /><br /><span>Prepare reports (both standard and ad-hoc) from company forecasting and actual reporting systems to share with local and regional stakeholders. </span><br /><br /><span>Conduct financial analysis, such as profitability analysis, cost analysis, and trend analysis, to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement. </span><br /><br /><span>Support mid-month sales estimates and monthly close processes. </span><br /><br /><span>Provide additional support to Finance Business partners and Business stakeholders. </span><br /><br /><span>Continuous Improvement and Process Enhancement: </span><br /><br /><span>Work with regional colleagues to maintain a consistent and efficient process which is aligned with how work is done in other markets, sharing & leveraging best practices. </span><br /><br /><span>Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve financial reporting, and enhance data accuracy and integrity. </span><br /><br /><span>Other Responsibilities: </span><br /><br /><span>Participate in cross-functional projects and provide financial expertise and analysis to support decision-making. </span><br /><br /><span>Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and accounting standards to ensure compliance and incorporate relevant changes into financial processes. </span><br /><br /><br /><span>Qualifications: </span><br /><br /><span>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field </span><br /><br /><span>Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations </span><br /><br /><span>Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience </span><br /><br /><span>Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and advanced Excel functions. </span><br /><br /><span>Familiarity with financial systems and software (e.g., LPT, BPC, SAP, PowerBI, Planning Dashboards) </span><br /><br /><span>Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate meaningful insights and recommendations. </span><br /><br /><span>Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders. </span><br /><br /><span>Strong business acumen and understanding of key drivers of financial performance. </span><br /><br /><span>Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills </span><br /><br /><span>Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and cross cultural environment. </span><br /><br /><span>Bring a high level of energy and desire to contribute to the creation of a high performing FP&A team </span></p><p></p><p><b>Required Skills: </b></p>Audits Compliance, Budgeting, Business Financial Planning, Capital Budgeting, Cash Management, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Data Analysis, Finance, Financial Analysis, Financial Modeling, Income Tax Planning, Investments Analysis, Management Controls, Preparation of Financial Reports, Stakeholder Management, Treasury Management, Variance Analysis<p></p><p><b>Preferred Skills: </b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Current Employees apply <a target="_blank" href="https://wd5.myworkday.com/msd/d/task/1422$6687.htmld">HERE</a></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Current Contingent Workers apply <a target="_blank" href="https://wd5.myworkday.com/msd/d/task/1422$4020.htmld">HERE</a></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Search Firm Representatives Please Read Carefully </b><br />Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA, also known as Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA, does not accept unsolicited assistance from search firms for employment opportunities.
