Specialist, Pricing Operations - Strategic Pricing, Contracting & Negotiations

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Pricing, Contracting & Negotiations, the Pricing Specialist will be a key resource in managing pricing operations, financial controls, and system architecture. The Specialist is responsible for managing PMPRB submissions, overseeing customer rebate payments, leading internal pricing audits, and serving as the Canadian expert and superuser for SAP pricing systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Regulatory Compliance & PMPRB: Lead all PMPRB (Patented Medicine Prices Review Board) filing requirements, adapting continuously to changing guidelines. Maintain all provincial filing requirements.

• Contract Management: Act as first point of contact for contract reviews and manage the final quality control through to signatures.

• Financial Management & Invoice Resolution: Manage all customer rebate payments and validations, soliciting adapted methodologies for validation when necessary.

• System & Technical Leadership: Act as the Canada SAP superuser and primary trainer for the pricing department. Manage augmentations and rollout of improvements (e.g., online catalogue, GTN implementation). Address SAP system issues directly with local finance or the global IT organization, serving as a key resource to evaluate the unintended consequences of system changes.

• Audit & Internal Controls: Serve as the Pricing department internal controls expert and audit lead. Manage all audit activities with pricing colleagues, auditors, and finance, ensuring all documentation and internal control processes strictly meet requirements.

• Tender & Price Increase Operations: Continuously monitor all requests for proposals (e.g., PSPC, CAG) and communicate requirements to appropriate internal colleagues to maximize tendering opportunities. Serve as an expert in external tendering systems. Lead all price increase activities, including coordination with external departments (e.g., order desk) and managing the external pricing communications vendor.

• Project & Team Leadership: Make decisions within guidelines to impact priorities and allocation of time. Appropriately push internal colleagues to be accountable for deadlines. Apply team effectiveness skills by integrating diverse perspectives and seek the continuous optimization of processes to shorten the processing time of transactions.

Qualifications Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or its equivalent is preferred

• Previous experience working in pricing, finance, or pharmaceutical compliance is highly preferred

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with advanced Microsoft Excel preferred

• Advanced knowledge and "superuser" proficiency in SAP systems is preferred

• Strong working knowledge of PMPRB guidelines and external tendering systems (SEAO, CanadaBuys) is a strong asset

Language:

• Fluency in French is required

• Skilled at identifying automation opportunities and working with IT to pilot/implement solutions
