Software Development Engineer in Test II - Cadlink (SDET)

<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>Cadwell is seeking an SDET II to lead quality assurance for CadLink, our neurodiagnostic data management system used by hospital systems worldwide.</p> <p>You'll own the quality strategy for a complex multi-tier client-server application, serving as the primary QA contact for CadLink. The role balances test automation with manual testing for complex scenarios, exploratory testing, and release validation.</p> <p><strong>Key Duties / Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Lead Testing</strong>: Own quality strategy, test planning, and release readiness for CadLink</li> <li><strong>Build Automation</strong>: Design and maintain automated acceptance/E2E tests in C#; contribute to integration test coverage</li> <li><strong>Execute Manual Testing</strong>: Perform exploratory testing, complex scenario validation, and release test passes</li> <li><strong>Test Databases</strong>: Validate data integrity across SQLite and SQL Server</li> <li><strong>Test Services</strong>: Verify WCF service endpoints and client-server communication</li> <li><strong>Collaborate</strong>: Work closely with developers, product management, and stakeholders</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Stack</strong>: C# / .NET Framework 4.8, WPF, WCF services</li> <li><strong>Databases</strong>: SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server</li> <li><strong>Tools</strong>: Azure DevOps, Git, Claude, Ranorex</li> <li><strong>Domain</strong>: Medical device software (FDA/IEC 62304 regulated)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education / Experience:</strong></p> <p><strong>Required -</strong></p> <ul> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field</li> <li>3-7 years in software testing, SDET, or software development roles</li> <li>Strong C# proficiency with hands-on automation experience</li> <li>Experience building automated test suites (E2E, integration, or similar)</li> <li>Database testing experience (SQL queries, data validation)</li> <li>Strong communication skills and ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships</li> <li>Self-directed with a proactive approach to quality</li> </ul> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred -</strong></p> <ul> <ul> <li>Medical device or regulated industry experience</li> <li>Mentorship experience</li> <li>WPF, SQLite, SQL, or client-server architecture experience</li> <li>Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Copilot)</li> </ul> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>General office environment with standard computer use</li> <li>May require occasional reaching, bending, or lifting up to 30 pounds</li> <li>Extensive use of computers and development tools</li> <li>Travel may be required; must be able to obtain necessary travel documents</li> </ul> <p><em>Cadwell Industries, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such affirms the right of every person to participate in all aspects of employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic.
