If you are excited about a role but don&#39;t meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2>Job Summary</h2><p><span>To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a </span><b><span><i>SMT Equipment Engineer</i></span></b> <span>located in </span><i><b><span>Prai, Penang</span></b></i><span>.</span></p><p></p><p>Mechanical:  Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems and production machines and equipment.</p><p></p><p>Electrical:  Maintains and troubleshoots in-circuit and functional testers, associated test fixtures, stress chambers and chamber racks to ensure manufacturing test equipment is on-line.</p><p></p><p><b><span>What a typical day looks like:</span></b></p><ul><li>Through troubleshooting, identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanism.</li><li>Repairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective manner.</li><li>Performs preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedules.</li><li>Performs calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedules.</li><li>Assists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipment.</li><li>Researches and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanisms.</li><li>Records times and problems in equipment logs.</li><li>Provides daily equipment functioning activity information.</li><li>Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.</li><li>Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.</li><li>Aligns repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.</li><li>Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.</li><li>Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.</li><li>May require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors&#39; locations.</li><li>Highest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Specialized Job:</b></p><ul><li>Allocating work to a team of fitters.</li><li>Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate.</li><li>Fitting new parts.</li><li>Carrying out quality inspections.</li><li>Acknowledging immediately to equipment breakdowns.</li><li>Fixing faults on site or arranging for replacement machinery or equipment to be installed.</li><li>Keeping production managers informed of progress.</li><li>Organizing teams or unipersonal to make sure that 24-hour cover is available.</li><li>Working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or computerized systems.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>The experience we’re looking to add to our team:</b></p><ul><li>Typically requires an associate degree in related field, military technical training or equivalent education and training.</li><li>Typically requires 2 years of related experience and/or trade knowledge.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>What you’ll receive for the great work you provide: </b></p><ul><li><p>Full range of medical benefits, dental, vision</p></li><li><p>Life Insurance</p></li><li><p>Paid Time Off</p></li><li><p>Allowances &amp; Bonuses*</p></li></ul><p></p><p>NB09<br />AA98</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><h2>Job Category</h2>Operations<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>Required Skills:</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Optional Skills:</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><span>Flex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
