The Position
At the heart of this internship, you will collaborate with our Simulation Teams to architect the future of System & Solution Design. As a key contributor, you will help build and validate ‘Digital Twins’ for our next-generation core lab solutions. Your work won’t just be theoretical, it will directly shape the physical architecture and the logical “brain” of cutting-edge, end-to-end laboratory systems.
Model & Maintain: Create and maintain complex scenarios for software and hardware simulations.
Execute & Analyze: Run simulations and perform deep-dive analyses of the results to identify system behaviors.
Evolutionary Support: Provide status updates and issue notifications to support the continuous evolution of our simulators.
Collaborate: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to improve departmental operations and project delivery.
Advanced Simulation: Gain hands-on experience with Discrete Event Simulation (DES) using tools like Simio or AnyLogic.
Systems Engineering: Understand the "big picture" of how hardware, software, and logistics integrate into massive diagnostic solutions.
Algorithmic Thinking: Design and implement efficient heuristics for real-time decision-making in robotics.
Data Science: Use Python to transform raw simulation outputs into powerful, data-driven visual stories.
Software Development: Level up your OOP (C# or Java) skills by extending simulation logic.
Global Collaboration: Experience working across borders with engineers and product owners in an international environment.
You are a methodical, responsible team player who is eager to take ownership of technical challenges.
Education: Mechanical Engineering, SW Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Industrial Engineering.
Programming: Solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (C# or Java).
Data Tools: Knowledge of SQL, Python, and Pandas for data management.
Simulation: Familiarity with Discrete Event Simulations and statistical modeling.
Communication: Fluent in English; able to present complex data with clarity.
Mindset: You are a methodical, responsible team player who is eager to take ownership of technical challenges.A strong willingness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
