Description
Sewing technicians are required to execute prescribed hand-sewing techniques such as running stitch, whip stitch and over hand knots in the process of building heart valve replacements and implants. Hand sewing techniques are to be performed under a microscope. You will be expected to sew material to a frame that is ~1mm thick. Build activities are to be recorded and documented. Previous experience working with medical device assembly is welcomed but not necessary. Application of technical ability, fine motor skills, and attention to detail to execute the production of surgically implanted replacement valves. Solutions mixing and experience in handling tissue is a plus. Agile, and able to perform different tasks throughout the day as priorities change. Use of Google suite, Microsoft365 and comparable computer systems may be used. This position is 100% on-site, located in our Santa Cruz, CA. facility.
Requirements
Competent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent manual sewing skills. Competent in working using a microscope. Ability to sit for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks. Team player-honest, hardworking, dependable.
