Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Operational Leadership: 

  • Serve as a leader within the Commercial Account Management team, contributing to the development and execution of the group’s strategic roadmap. 

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of global biotech strategy initiatives, as applicable. 

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in delivery models, operational processes, partnership and governance frameworks, cross-business unit collaboration, and tools to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction. 

  • Collaborate with delivery and cross-functional leaders, enterprise-level business unit leads, and business development (BD) leads for seamless integration of relationship engagement, strategy and delivery across the clinical development lifecycle of biotech portfolio accounts. 

Client Relationship Leadership: 

  • Represent operational voice in client engagements, proposals, and bid defenses tailoring to biotech client needs. 

  • Partner with the regional BD team to identify and prioritize strategic biotech accounts to build and support long-term relationship growth and client satisfaction, provide operational connectivity, and drive repeat business. 

  • Partner with Business Development, Therapeutic Area Heads, Therapeutic Strategy Leads, Consulting, Clinical Pharmacology Services, and other business unit leaders to support new business opportunities within the regional portfolio and growth opportunities for strategic biotech accounts.   

Partnership Portfolio Oversight and Accountability: 

  • Provide executive-level oversight for the planning, execution, and delivery of global clinical programs across the strategic biotech client portfolio  

  • Serve as the trusted advisor and point of accountability for portfolio-level operational outcomes.  Participate  lead governance meetings to foster visibility and alignment as needed. 

  • Provide strategic alignment to ensure business functions and business units collaborate effectively and understand the biotech client’s broader goals and strategic direction.   

Departmental and Organizational Leadership: 

  • Promote professional standards and ethical conduct that reflect Fortrea’s values and mission. 

  • Contribute as a leadership voice within the broader Commercial organization. 

  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, and high performance. 

Qualifications: 

  • Extensive experience in clinical research, project delivery, and/or consulting within the pharmaceutical or CRO industry, with 5+ years’ of director-level leadership experience.   

  • BS degree or higher in life sciences, public health, health economics, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MS, MPH, PhD) is preferred. 

  • Proven track record of strategic leadership and successful delivery of complex global clinical programs. 

  • Strong business acumen, client-facing experience, and ability to influence at all levels of the organization. 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. 

Work Environment and Travel: 

  • Standard office environment with flexibility for remote work as needed. 

  • Travel: up to 50%; travel may require overnight stays. 

  • Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet global demands.
