Senior Technical Product Manager

In our Animal Health division, we develop medicines and treatments of the future, and right now, we are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to completely modernize our scientific ecosystem with us. Your mission will be to transform the way our scientists design, analyze, make, and test molecules (the DMTA process). Together, we will replace the legacy ABASE system and fragmented manual spreadsheets with a modern digital stack powered by Genedata Screener, LiveDesign, TorxMake, and DataGrok. This is no minor tweak – this transformation will save scientists more than half of their routine work, increase research productivity by a third, and kickstart a new era of predictive design through AI/ML. You will be a key connection point for our international teams, which means you will occasionally travel to visit colleagues in Germany and, about once a year, you will visit your partners and teams in the USA and India.

 

What you will do in this role:

• Take product ownership and shape the long-term vision and roadmap of the entire scientific platform stack.
• Listen to scientific experts in our laboratories, understand their daily workflows, and translate their needs into clear requirements for development teams.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to incorporate AI/ML models for molecular analysis and coordinate the integration of new tools to ensure everything fits together seamlessly.
• Focus heavily on change management, helping scientific teams adopt new applications to make the transition as smooth as possible for them.
• Act as the primary partner for external software vendors and regularly discuss transformation successes and future plans with executive leadership.
• Travel occasionally to Germany to connect with the team in person and head to the USA and India once a year to meet with global partners.

 

What you should have:

• Product Management Experience: Approximately 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner, focusing on software platforms or systems.
• Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Research: Previous experience or orientation in drug discovery, chemistry, biology, or bioinformatics (a basic understanding of how laboratory research works).
• System Modernization Experience: Practical experience transitioning from legacy applications to new systems, ideally involving users in the change management process.
• English Communication: Ability to communicate, present plans, and collaborate effectively in English with colleagues in Germany, the USA, and India.
