The Senior Technical Operator - Dispatch supports safe, compliant, and efficient shift execution. This role directs operators on the floor, coordinates dispatch activities, resolves issues, supports service continuity, and escalates exceptions to the Team Leader. It also acts as deputy when required, supports training and performance, and contributes to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
Shift Execution and Dispatch Coordination
Direct team activities on the floor
Ensure staffing, workload allocation, and station readiness
Resolve routine issues and escalate exceptions
Manage breaks and shift handovers
Cover Team Leader duties when required
Documentation, Reporting and Compliance
Complete KPI reporting on time
Maintain records, handovers, and Workday updates
Follow IT security and data handling procedures
Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
Maintain SOPs, change logs, and troubleshooting guides
Dispatch Start and End of Day Processes
Print blank orders and allocate work at start of day
Confirm stations are ready to begin work
Ensure work is completed or handed over at end of shift
Complete end-of-shift KPI reporting
Print blank orders for the morning shift
Continuous Improvement and Operational Support
Support troubleshooting, backordering, undispatch, and manifest processes
Assist with validation and issue resolution
Identify and support process improvements
Participate in Kaizen activities
Support operational changes and corrective actions
Be an active member of the Dispatch team
Work closely with the Team Leader on priorities and shift requirements
Act as deputy for rostering and operational queries
Support day-to-day operational management
Provide floor guidance to team members
Act as a secondary client contact for operational issues and updates
Escalate issues as required
Support absences reporting
Support training and assessment of operators
Maintain capability across multiple operational functions
What You Must have
Technical
Strong understanding of dispatch, logistics, and operational workflows
Ability to allocate labour and workflow across stations
Experience in troubleshooting, backordering, manifest, and undispatch activities
Working knowledge of SAP, KPI reporting systems, and Workday
Understanding of SOPs, change logs, and troubleshooting documentation
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and systems
Knowledge of data handling and IT security procedures
Education
Relevant operational, logistics or warehouse qualifications advantageous
First Aid training required or desirable
Fire Warden training required or desirable
Current forklift ticket required or desirable
Experience
Experience in dispatch, logistics, warehouse, or operational environments
Senior operator or shift support experience
Proven ability to direct teams and coordinate shift activities
Experience with KPI reporting, handovers, and escalation
Experience training and assessing operators
Experience supporting a Team Leader or supervisor
SAP experience preferred
