We are currently searching for a Senior Staff R&D Engineer - Computer Science.
Senior Staff R&D Engineer - Computer Science will be responsible for researching and developing core computer vision and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, with a strong scientific background in data-driven 3D Vision algorithms. Highly objective-oriented and motived to explore new research directions that contribute to the overall objectives of the team. Able to autonomously solve complex problems within its domain of expertise and to independently acquire new knowledge when challenges fall outside of comfort zone. Strongly focused on AI and deep‑learning architectures for 3D vision and committed to staying at the forefront of state‑of‑the‑art research.
What will you be doing?
(50%) Research and development of 3D Vision and AI algorithms with the potential for integration into computer-assisted surgical applications
(20%) Expert support in design, implementation, and evaluation of AI algorithms
(15%) Supervise engineering students and contribute to scientific activities in relevant areas
(15%) Scientific/technical writing for internal reporting, scientific publications and new patent applications
What will you need to be successful?
- PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or Mechanical Engineering
Experience in relevant areas and a strong academic research record, including publications in peer-reviewed conferences and journals in Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Medical Imaging.
Expertise in Data Science and AI models
Expertise in 3D Computer Vision is a plus
Expertise in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
Experience in conducting research and authoring academic manuscripts for top-tier conferences in Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Medical Imaging.
Software development in Python or MATLAB
Strong creativity, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent scientific written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail, self-motivated and collaborative
Passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking solutions
