Role Overview

About the Role:

Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help R&D global users to be more productive and enable innovation.

A Sr. Software Engineer will redefine the “art of the possible” and unleash the potential of the modern technical stack by developing and testing software solutions and integrating them with our company’s R&D enterprise applications. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling our company’s digital initiative. This position involves designing, developing and sustaining scalable, secure, and high-performing applications, integrating modern technologies, and ensuring operational readiness for global regulatory processes.

The successful candidate will also perform product discovery and define the end-to-end conceptual and technical design. We expect you to show technical leadership, deep technical expertise, and accountability, and use your skills to mentor and develop the junior team members.

What will you do in this role

Strategic Contribution

• Develop a good understanding of our company’s biopharmaceutical R&D business processes, systems, and data, focusing on clinical, regulatory & pharmacovigilance business processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional value teams, including business technology partners, product managers, data scientists, and software engineers, to understand data & system requirements.
• Be a role model by creating a culture of curiosity, learning, building, and experimentation.
• Conduct ongoing market research and technology assessments to identify emerging industry trends and help align these with the enterprise roadmap.
• Ensure that industry-accepted system architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and concepts are integrated with those of allied domains, and coordinated roll-out and adoption strategies are in place.
• Develops a library of deployable and documented design patterns and reference architectures.

Frontend Development

• Develop and maintain modern, responsive, and user-friendly web applications using React.js.
• Implement reusable, modular components ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes into interactive interfaces.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Backend Development

• Design and implement RESTful APIs to power frontend applications. /
• Develop and maintain backend services, databases, and infrastructure.
• Ensure data security and integrity using best practices for secure coding.
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy applications and maintain production environments.

Collaboration & Agile Development

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements.
• Participate in Agile cycles (Scrum/Kanban): sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications across the stack.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Ensure high test coverage and prevent regressions. 

Continuous Learning & Improvement

• Stay updated with trends in React, Node.js, full-stack engineering, and AI technologies.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing, code reviews, and process improvements.

What should you have

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Primary Skills: React.js, Redux,Node.js, Express, FAST API.

Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, AWS,Git for version control.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or any Technology Stream, or equivalent relevant experience
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven experience in developing web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
• Strong proficiency in React.js, Redux, and integration with editor tools APIs (e.g., CK Editor).
• Backend experience with Node.js, Express, and developing FAST API.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and one or more backend programming languages.
• Full stack (programming/software development, database administration, information security, solution architecture, Software Configuration).
• Strong understanding of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency in Git for version control.
• Experienced with relational and non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with building scalable AI Solutions within a modern technology stack, which includes cloud services, data pipelines, database, and other necessary tooling.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques, such as instruction design, template-based approaches, rule-based conditioning, or fine-tuning strategies.
• Must be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Secondary Skills: Node.js / TypeScript, C#, or Java,refining prompts for generative AI models.

• 3-5 Years of experience working in Agile Methodology in highly regulated environments.
• 3-5 years of experience with biopharmaceutical R&D, Clinical and regulatory business processes, systems, and data.
• Additional programming languages such as Node.js / TypeScript, C#, or Java.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and refining prompts for generative AI models, preferably in creative or text generation domains.
• Experience with building, deploying, and managing Docker images.
