Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Design and maintain end-to-end SAS architecture in Azure Cloud, aligned with enterprise standards. Define integration strategies for SAS with internal systems and external partner sites. Oversee connectivity models (VPN, private endpoints) and ensure secure data flows.
Environment Setup & Configuration: Install, configure, and optimize SAS Viya on cloud. Ensure scalability, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
System Administration: Monitor system health, manage user access, and perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patches. Provide critical incident management escalation support and guide support teams in resolving day-to-day challenges.
Performance Optimization: Tune SAS Viya services, manage workload balancing, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
Integration & Automation: Connect SAS Viya with enterprise data sources, APIs, and authentication systems. Automate administrative tasks using scripting tools (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
Security & Compliance: Implement role-based access control, encryption, and compliance with GxP and regulatory standards. Validate security controls and ensure adherence to data protection policies.
Collaboration & Leadership: Lead technical discussions in meetings with stakeholders. Mentor support team members and foster knowledge sharing. Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to support analytics workflows.
Documentation: Maintain detailed system documentation, SOPs, and change logs.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in SAS architecture and administration, with at least 3 years in Azure-hosted SAS environments.
- Proven experience administering SAS Viya and SAS 9.x environments.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration, networking, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAS Certified Administrator for SAS Viya.
- Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Familiarity with Stonebranch, Medidata, or similar integration tools.
- Prior experience in pharma/clinical data environments.
