The Senior Scientist/Staff Research Engineer is responsible for scientific/technical leadership in downstream purification of biologic molecules. We are looking for a candidate with strong application expertise in plasma, including process development and biopharmaceutical manufacturing process understanding. In this role you will have the opportunity to turn new ideas into purification products for our customers around the globe.

This position reports to the Senior Section Manager for Capture Applications within the Start-to-Finish Department in R&D, which is part of the Resins & Technologies Business Unit located in Uppsala, Sweden and will be an on-site role.  The Start-to-Finish team focuses on applications for customers’ complete end-to-end processes and thought leadership.

What you will do:

• Actively contribute in Research, New Product Development and Market Support projects as a chromatography subject matter expert.
• Design, evaluate and optimize new plasma purification solutions.
• Act as scientific/technology mentor within R&D and as lead/expert in external collaborations and customer support.
• Act as activity leader in project work.
• Contribute to scientific presence presenting posters and orals at conferences.

Who you are:

• PhD or MSc in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Chemical engineering or corresponding relevant field.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a Scientist/Senior Research Engineer.
• Practical experience in chromatography purification of biomolecules in the biopharmaceutical field and subsequent analytic methods.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead.
• Advanced English language (oral and writing), working proficiency in Swedish language.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• The Biopharma/Biologics Industry
