We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior Scientist to join our Protein Engineering Group. The successful candidate will deploy cutting edge concepts in therapeutics development and play a pivotal role in advancing our protein engineering efforts employing numerous techniques, including molecular biology, protein purification, Biolayer interferometry (BLI), and protein stability assessment. Ideal candidates will have deep expertise and interest in the properties and functions of proteins and protein-protein interactions, along with a strong track record of high-impact publications. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of novel therapeutic antibodies within a dynamic and innovative environment.<h4> Responsibilities:</h4><ul><li>Lead and Advance Target Projects: Conduct literature reviews, coordinate cross-functional teams, and compile comprehensive data reports.</li><li>Innovative Research: Utilize state-of-the-art techniques to accelerate project timelines and drive impactful discoveries.</li><li>Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze experimental data, generate reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams.</li><li>Protein Purification: Execute affinity chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, and size-exclusion chromatography using FPLC (Akta) systems.</li><li>Protein Analytics: Perform advanced chromatography on HPLC systems, measure protein-protein interactions with BLI, and assess protein stability using DLS/SLS thermal melts.</li><li>Mammalian Expression & Cell Culture: Transfect mammalian cells for protein expression and maintain cell lines.</li><li>Molecular Biology: Utilize techniques such as Gibson Assembly, PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA sequencing, and plasmid preparations.</li><li>Team Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration and scientific excellence.</li><li>Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to project planning and execution.</li><li>Lab Management: Maintain accurate records according to company standards, ensure safety compliance, and support lab organization and operations.</li></ul><h4> Qualifications:</h4><ul><li>PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, structural biology, cell biology, or a related field.</li><li>1+ years of postdoctoral experience in a relevant field.</li><li>2+ years of industry experience is highly preferred.</li><li>Strong Publication Record of multiple high-impact papers in relevant fields.</li></ul><h4>Technical Skills:</h4><ul><li>Expertise in protein purification and handling.</li><li>Experience with mammalian expression systems is strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong background in molecular biology, structural biology, biophysics and biochemistry.</li><li>Familiarity with data analysis software, programming languages, and statistical tools.</li><li>Ability to maintain records within a laboratory information management system (LIMS).</li><li>Ability to review and synthesize recent relevant literature.</li></ul> Compensation and Benefits:The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills. While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise exceeds the requirements of the role.   SystImmune is a leading and well-funded biotech company with a bright future.
