The Strategic Planning process consists of a demand and supply component, preceding all processes under IBP. The demand component is the input to the SCM process, called &#34;Long Range Portfolio Plan&#34; or LRPP, and is owned by Global Strategic Marketing. SCM looks at long-term supply constraints that may limit growth, including internal manufacturing sites/assets, external vendors, raw material supply, sterilization, transportation and warehousing capacity. You&#39;ll be empowered to collaborate to ensure our network capacity can support patient needs in the long-term.</p><p></p><p>The <i><b>Senior Manager, Strategic Capacity Management</b></i>, will drive the SCM process, embedded within the Orthopedics PLAN organization and reporting to the MedTech Global SCM Leader. This position will lead the Orthopedics SCM team, who will drive and evaluate long-term supply chain scenarios in the 3 to 10 year horizon. The process will be key to identifying critical demand and supply imbalances, and providing insights and recommendations, so that major business decisions can be driven by Value Stream Leaders. These decisions can range from small operational changes to free up &#34;trapped capacity&#34;, or multi-million-dollar investments.</p><p>As the SCM leader of the Orthopedics business, you&#39;ll be a part of MedTech&#39;s Integrated Business Management team, within MedTech&#39;s Global Supply Chain team, benefiting from community experience across MedTech SCM owners, Process and System owners.</p><h2></h2><h2><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></h2><h2><b>People</b></h2><ul><li><p>Develop and mentor the team under your responsibility, to generate long-range supply models, validated by business partners.</p></li><li><p>Ensure talent development of team through delivery of performance management processes (goal setting, development plan creation and performance reviews).</p></li><li><p>Own/maintain training and development materials, as well as network capacity model documentation as needed.</p></li></ul><h2><b>Process:</b></h2><ul><li><p>Continue the journey to advance the maturity of the Strategic Capacity Management process across all Orthopedics Platforms, using the J&amp;J SCM Blueprint.</p></li><li><p>Embed a new process / mentality in the organization, by demonstrating influence without authority, mastering executive communication and internal networking outside of PLAN (Engineering, MAKE, Commercial, Global Strategic Marketing)</p></li><li><p>Proactively identify business opportunities related not only to capacity issues in our network, but also to areas such as new product launches, new technology requirements, business continuity planning, regulatory validations, inventory/cycle time management, etc.</p></li><li><p>Apply general management principles, by being able to discuss topics that are related to capacity implications, such as Procedure Revenue Forecasts, Gross Profit, Market Share, Inventory, as well as implications by Market/Region, Phase In-Phase out strategies and assumptions, Inventory/Waste, etc.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with Field Asset Management, Global Strategic Marketing and Commercial Excellence, to advance maturity related to the Long-Range Portfolio Planning (LRPP) process and tools.</p></li></ul><h2>Tools</h2><ul><li><p>Own / execute / develop Strategic Capacity Management software, including network modeling, optimization, reporting and probabilistic simulation tools.</p></li><li><p>Ability to model and simulate theoretical scenarios that may include DELIVER or Market models, for which new tools will need to be self-designed and demonstrated.</p></li><li><p>Champion the adoption of large-data modeling tools like Python/R/Alteryx, to ensure the ability to process datasets efficiently.</p></li></ul><h2><b>Qualifications</b></h2><p><b>Education:</b></p><ul><li><p>Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent University Degree required;</p></li><li><p>STEM-related degrees, including but not limited to Engineering, Operations Research, Logistics, Supply chain, Computing, Finance or Economics.</p></li></ul><h2><b>Experience and Skills:</b></h2><h2><b>Required:</b></h2><ul><li><p>Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.</p></li><li><p>Relevant team leadership experience in a logistics, planning and/or manufacturing environment; within the Medical Device, or other relevant industries, such as Consumer Products, Electronics, or Automotive.</p></li><li><p>Proven expertise building process models, to demonstrate flow / constraints.</p></li><li><p>Working experience with simulation and optimization models and tools</p></li></ul><h2><b>Preferred:</b></h2><ul><li><p>Master’s degree or equivalent experience, with demonstrated background in advanced analytics.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of Advanced Planning Systems (APS) such as APO, OMP, Kinaxis or Blue Yonder (Manugistics). Ability to train others, validate and/or challenge models and assumptions.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Theory of Constraints and/or System Dynamics, with experience in practical applications.</p></li><li><p>Modeling experience in simulation software like SIMIO or Analogic is a plus.</p></li></ul><h2><b>Other:</b></h2><ul><li><p>English language proficiency required.
