Job Purpose:
To lead the end-to-end scoping, planning, and reporting of IBM/SOX audit, ensuring the right scope of entity/ market / controls / FSLI are in place to deliver efficiently, manage risk, and meet regulatory, quality, and timeline commitments
Key Responsibilities:
Delivering end-to-end SOX compliance program – from scoping and planning of IBM/SOX audits, including identification of in-scope entities, markets, processes, controls, and FSLIs in line with regulatory and internal requirements to drafting reporting to Audit Committee. Lead assessment and embedding of SOX standard controls for new SOX entities in scope as required
Deliver Year-End Certification and provide memo for the Disclosure Committee.
Develop and maintain annual and cycle-level controls testing audit plans, ensuring appropriate coverage, prioritisation based on risk, and alignment with audit timelines.
Assess risk factors and changes (business, regulatory, system, organisational) to adjust scope and testing strategies proactively.
Plan and manage resource requirements (internal teams, co-sourcing, specialists), ensuring the right skills and capacity are allocated across audits.
Coordinate with Finance, Tech, HR, and external auditors to validate scope assumptions and resolve scoping issues early and ensuring testing standards are followed.
Ensure quality and consistency of scoping documentation, including clear rationale, approvals, and audit trail.
Monitor delivery against milestones, quality standards, and regulatory deadlines, escalating risks and capacity constraints where required.
Drive continuous improvement in scoping and planning methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce duplication, and strengthen risk coverage, working with a solution minded focus and leveraging digital innovative solutions (e.g. use of Agentic AI) and propose enhancements to current agentic AI solutions and support implementation
Required Skills:
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA)
Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance
10+ years of relevant experience in SOX, internal audit, or controls roles
Experience in large, complex, or global organisations preferred
Core / Technical Skills
Strong expertise in SOX / IBM SOX compliance and internal controls
End‑to‑end experience in audit scoping, planning, and reporting
Deep understanding of FSLIs, control frameworks, and risk‑based scoping
Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee reporting and certification
Experience developing controls testing plans and audit roadmaps
Ability to assess and respond to business, regulatory, system, and organisational risks
Functional / Domain Expertise
SOX implementation for newly in‑scope entities
Resource planning and management (internal teams, co‑sourcing, specialists)
Cross‑functional coordination with Finance, Tech, HR, and external auditors
Strong documentation discipline, approvals, and audit trail management
Continuous improvement in audit efficiency and coverage
Exposure to digital and Agentic AI tools in audit or controls (preferred)
