We're hiring a Senior Manager / Associate Director into our Parenterals & Liquids Development (PLD) department within Drug Product Research & Development in Beerse, Belgium. We'd love to hear from you!

In PLD we design every parenteral and liquid formulation and process across the Janssen R&D Synthetics portfolio, from late Discovery through Commercialization. We develop solutions, microsuspensions, nanosuspensions, liposomes, microspheres, biodegradable rods, in situ forming gels and SEDDS. We deliver them through nearly every route: oral, buccal, IV, IM, SC, intra-organ, intra-tumoral, topical, nasal, ophthalmic, transdermal, intra-thecal and lung/inhalation.

The role

Advance formulation and process development for small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides. Run technology transfers. Deliver regulatory submissions. Guide several programs at once and keep them aligned to CMC objectives and timelines. Apply Best Product at Pivotal and Speed to the Clinic principles. Plan resources, set priorities and decide what comes first when programs overlap. Uphold quality, compliance and safety, and know the rules that apply — GMP included, along with Safety, Health and Environment.

Help shape our direction from the PLD Leadership Team. Explore new technologies, define advanced drug delivery platforms, create patient-centric designs and fresh IP.

Recruit dedicated scientists and Mentor them. Lead your team to solve bigger problems each year. Connect PLD with Pharmaceutical & Material Sciences, Analytical Development, Pharmaceutical Supply & Engineering Sciences, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory. Partner with academia and CDMOs to deliver on your projects.

What it takes

• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bioengineering or Chemical Engineering — or a Master's plus equivalent experience
• 10+ years developing drug products in the pharmaceutical industry
• Deep experience in parenterals and liquids formulation and process development for synthetic compounds, including advanced drug delivery platforms
• A track record spanning preclinical formulations, developability assessments, clinical development, scale-up, technology transfer, criticality analysis, control strategies, regulatory filings and commercialization

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€96,000.00 - €165,025.00
