• Lead and manage a team of experienced accounting professionals responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in a technically complex, non-routine area of accounting.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for judgment-intensive areas (e.g., treasury instruments, debt, foreign currency, and alliance/collaboration accounting), interpreting and applying complex US GAAP guidance.
• Develop and mentor team members — including senior/technical individual contributors — fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Oversee and review the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis for complex, higher-risk accounting areas.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and prepare commentary for senior finance leadership.
• Collaborate with global finance teams, including tax, treasury, shared services, and external auditors, on complex and judgment-based accounting matters.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support for complex transactions in partnership with the technical accounting team.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes and reporting tools.
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to provide insights and updates on financial results and initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
• Act as the liaison between CAO and the HYD site leadership, regularly communicating with site leaders and facilitating partnership across HYD, NJ, and other relevant sites.
