Description

Are you ready to be a trusted advisor for our regional business leaders on legal & compliance matters? Are you an experienced professional who can identify risks, provide pragmatic guidance and help teams achieve their business goals while staying compliant?

At Bavarian Nordic, we are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel (f/m/d) to support our business, especially in the DACH region, and in other key European countries. In this role you will provide legal advice to regional leadership and business teams on a wide range of legal and compliance matters in a dynamic and international environment.

You will become an integrated part of the global Legal & Compliance team, where you report directly to the Head of Legal, and work closely with the team’s approximately 10-12 colleagues primarily located in Denmark. Here you will independently support the business in navigating regulatory requirements and mitigate risks while enabling responsible commercial activities.

The position can either be based on-site at our site in Munich or can work fully remote based in Germany.

This is how you impact our organization

Our vaccines make a real difference to people and no matter your role we all contribute to protecting lives every day. This is how your work matters:

  • Advise on legal and compliance matters across several jurisdictions, primarily in DACH/Europe, including promotional law, anti-corruption, competition law and data privacy as well as social media, grants, donations, sponsorships, HCP interactions, and medical congresses

  • Provide legal and strategic advice to regional leadership in DACH and ROW on commercial practices, promotional activities, regulatory matters, compliance and day-to-day legal issues

  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including distribution, wholesaler, sales, tender, service, consultancy and R&D agreements

  • Conduct legal and compliance trainings (e.g., anti-corruption, competition law, data privacy and contracting) for colleagues

  • Conduct legal and compliance risk assessments in coordination with the Legal & Compliance team and drive regional compliance initiatives

  • Monitor and identify changes to laws and regulations affecting the company within the DACH region and other key European countries

  • Manage legal disputes and litigation, coordinate with external counsel and support matters such as M&A, corporate housekeeping, real estate and employment law when needed

About you

  • Law degree with relevant legal qualification and several years of experience in legal and compliance roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework in Germany/DACH, particularly in areas such as promotional law and compliance (anti-corruption); familiarity with legal frameworks in other regions (Europe/ROW) is considered a plus

  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in an international business environment

  • Ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice and manage topics across multiple jurisdictions

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders

  • Fluent German and strong English language skills, with a structured and reliable working style
