The role involves planning, executing, and driving VA/VE initiatives across product lines to optimize design, reduce costs, and enhance performance while ensuring product quality and compliance. The responsibilities include identifying value improvement opportunities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, driving the implementation of cost-saving ideas, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Mandatory Skills:</b></p><ul><li>6+ years’ experience in driving execution of development and implementation of VA/VE strategies and roadmaps to meet organizational objectives. Identify opportunities for value optimization by analysing product designs, manufacturing processes, and supply chains.</li><li>6+ years & Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software) for complex assemblies, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design optimization.</li><li>6+ years’ experience in deep understanding of GD&T per ANSI Y14.5, tolerance analysis, and mechanical stress evaluation for high-precision components.</li><li> Strong communication & interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Desired Skills:</b></p><ul><li><b>VA/VE Ideation:</b> Develop and implement VA/VE strategies and roadmaps to meet organizational objectives. Identify opportunities for value optimization by analyzing product designs, manufacturing processes, and supply chains.</li><li><b>Project Execution:</b> Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality, to drive VA/VE projects from concept to implementation. Lead ideation sessions, root cause analysis, and brainstorming workshops to identify cost-reduction opportunities. Ensure timely execution of VA/VE projects while meeting quality, functionality, and compliance standards.</li><li><b>Data Analysis and Reporting:</b> Analyze product cost structures, identify cost drivers, and propose design or process changes for value enhancement. Prepare detailed reports summarizing VA/VE project results, including savings achieved and impact on performance.</li><li><b>Prototyping and Validation:</b> Work with suppliers and internal teams to develop prototypes for VA/VE initiatives. Ensure thorough validation and testing of changes to maintain product quality and compliance.</li><li><b>Continuous Improvement:</b> Drive a culture of innovation by promoting the use of advanced tools, methodologies, and best practices in VA/VE. Continuously monitor industry trends and emerging technologies for potential application in VA/VE projects.</li><li>On-time project delivery while upholding utmost technical standards and quality standards for the deliveries within agreed budgets will be the key metrics of performance measurement.</li><li>Contributing to the business through innovative ideas and through generating IP for the organization.</li><li>People management: Coaching and mentoring the young engineers.</li><li>Expertise/Proficient with CAD tools, DFMEA, PFMEA, and VA/VE tools (FAST, Function Tree, etc.).</li><li>Exposure to materials science, mechatronics, or related multidisciplinary engineering domains.</li><li>Experience with conducting design reviews, value engineering workshops, and cost-benefit analyses.</li><li>Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, ASTM, UL, etc.) and compliance requirements.</li><li>Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar process improvement methodologies.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Opportunities for Growth</b></p><ul><li>Take ownership of cross-functional engineering and validation projects under variety of products.</li><li>Exposure to different products and working under dynamic conditions with innovation.</li><li>Build leadership by improving processes and driving data-based decision-making across global teams.</li><li>Progress into senior roles such as Engineering Manager, or Technical Manager based on performance with leadership and mentoring opportunities.</li></ul><p>•</p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 8 to 10 years of experience in VA/VE activities, cost optimization, or related engineering roles.</li><li>A seasoned, result-oriented engineer who can work independently once given direction, has good rapport with coworkers, can listen, be creative, and is detailed oriented.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, accuracy, and flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business needs and project priorities.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly, collaborate effectively across functions, and work both independently and in team leadership roles.</li><li>Maintains a good attitude, persistence, and drive focused on finding a way to accomplish the objectives. </li><li>Willing to travel within or outside India as and when needed (about 10% of travelling per year)</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, <span>candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes</span> as permitted or required by applicable law</span><span>.</span></p>
