The successful candidate will be a driven, experienced cell/molecular biologist who is enthusiastic about leveraging state-of-the-art techniques and developing translational <em>in vitro</em> complex preclinical assays/models for Owkin’s research objectives, such as evaluating therapeutic targets, identifying biomarkers and delivering high quality data.</p> <p>The best person for this role is exceptionally rigorous and meticulous in experimental execution, is flexible, and has a demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary collaborations involving a high level of teamwork. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your in-depth knowledge and technical hand-on skills to our growing BioMedical department and support Owkin's discovery pipeline.</p> <h1>In particular, you will:</h1> <ul> <li>Carry out cell line and patient-derived biobanking, and related experiments (2D and 3D) according to the protocols and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed by the team for modeling disease biology.</li> <li>Execute general molecular and cellular biology techniques (RNA/DNA work, RT-qPCR, FACS, IHC/IF, IF imaging acquisition for viability/proliferation readouts, high content imaging,...) to generate omics data from <em>in vitro</em> models. </li> <li>Execute genetic and drug perturbations experiments to study novel oncology/immuno-oncology targets. </li> <li>Carry out assay development and optimisation for the development of disease-relevant complex models and a variety of perturbation readouts.</li> <li>Help to coordinate the generation of large datasets with cutting-edge high-throughput spatial transcriptomics methods and ensure consistent practices and SOP compliance throughout partner laboratories. </li> <li>Contribute to the SOP writing and updating in collaboration with senior team members.</li> <li>Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely fashion and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc. Manage and update ELN inventories and databases.</li> <li>Report experimental results orally to the Team, Program leads and BioMedical department in regular meetings.</li> <li>Document deviations from the protocol / experimental plan and operating methods and inform the Lab Director.</li> <li>Be responsible for monitoring the maintenance of equipment.</li> <li>Train lab newcomers as required and contribute to building a cohesive and highly performing experimental team. </li> </ul> <h1>About you</h1> <p><strong>Education & Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science or equivalent (BTS, DUT, Licence) in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related disciplines.
