Primary Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including documentation, clearance, and shipment tracking.
Ensure compliance with customs, international trade laws, and internal policies
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers to resolve ad-hoc shipment issues.
Review trade performance/HS code classification and provide monthly KPI reports.
Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Stay up to date with changes in global trade regulations and implement best practices.
Perform compliance reviews and risk assessments to prepare the organization for potential customs audits.
Provide guidance and training to business units on customs regulations and export controls.
Actively support and contribute to global trade operations initiatives and projects
Perform monthly cost settlement, review results, and prepare reports by closing deadlines
Coordinate RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes with Global internal stake holders/freight forwarders to secure competitive rates and reliable service.
Monitor and manage OTP (On-Time Performance) of logistics partners, ensuring timely delivery and addressing delays proactively.
Oversee freight damage management, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and internal/external claim processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in import/export operations, customs compliance, and international trade within a multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS classification, COO(Certificate of Origin) and other trade compliance requirements.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Power point
Fluent written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences, FMCG, or other highly regulated industries.
Hands-on experience with customs audits, post-entry corrections, duty recovery programs, and trade compliance initiatives.
Experience managing regional or APAC trade operations.
Knowledge of SAP, GTS, Oracle, or other ERP/trade compliance systems.
Professional certifications such as Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Export Specialist, or equivalent trade compliance credentials.
