The Opportunity
Our location in Lake Bluff, Illinois, currently has an opportunity for a Sr Financial Analyst to support our Business & Technology Services, office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
The Senior Financial Analyst Provides FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) support to the Corporate Business & Technology Services (BTS) organization. Oversees financial processes and activities and provides analytics to support strategic business decisions.
What You’ll Work On
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to multiple business units within Corporate BTS organization, including International IT, Medical Device IT and EPD IT.
- Leverage Abbott Shared Services to oversee monthly close activities, deliver clear and meaningful financial reporting and commentary, and ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and procedures.
- Develop forecasts, prepare supporting analytics and actively manage risks and opportunities using internal and external data signals. Recommend mitigation actions and develop contingency plans as needed.
- Conduct regular financial reviews with cost center owners to communicate financial performance, highlight drivers and variances, and provide actionable insight to help the business achieve financial goals.
- Partner with the business to define, review and analyze projects. Assist with preparation and review of Requests for Capital Expenditure (RCEs). Provide financial modeling and analytical support for contracts negotiations.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support key initiatives, strategic projects and leadership requests.
- Drive continuous improvement and simplification of financial processes.
- Works independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, applying strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
- 4 years minimum experience in financial planning, analysis and accounting.
- Proficient with financial modeling, systems, tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills; ability to synthesize complex, technical issues and summarize with clarity.
- Ability to manage many competing priorities and execute in a pressurized environment.

The base pay for this position is
$78,000.00 – $156,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
