Work independently in a lead role, or as part of a team to design, develop, and troubleshoot critical electrical designs. Identify, recommend, implement significant and/or complex new electrical design improvements or technologies that meet regulatory requirements. May lead multiple electrical engineering activities. Develop cross-functional working relationships and provide effective communication to Senior Management.</p><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Work On </b></p><p>• Research and develop high-volume consumer medical devices</p><p>• Collaborate with product managers, cross-functional leaders, system designers to translate business needs and product requirements into feature definition, technical requirements and designs.</p><p>• Develop embedded system requirements, specifications, architectures and translate into hardware meeting performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.</p><p>• Work closely with software architecture leaders to ensure proper system implementation to support the needs for system verification, manufacturing, and the end user.</p><p>• Create and review electrical design specifications and product requirements.</p><p>• Support development of design FMEAs and V&amp;V test protocols.</p><p>• Ensure that electrical designs meet applicable industry and medical device standards.</p><p>• Communicate effectively to and participate in cross-functional development teams.</p><p>• Write and submit Engineering Change Orders in Agile PLM.</p><p>• Serve as an independent reviewer on programs not directly involved.</p><p>• Comply with corporate and divisional policies and support additional program needs.</p><p></p><p><b>Experience You&#39;ll Bring </b></p><p><b>Required Qualifications: </b></p><p>• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering</p><p>• Minimum of 7 &#43; years of relevant experience</p><p>• Mastery of fundamental Electrical Engineering and Embedded Design principles.</p><p>• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.</p><p>• Experience in performing complex engineering calculations and relating results to design verification tests including statistical analysis and tolerance analysis</p><p>• Demonstrated capability in developing embedded hardware systems with associated design documentation.</p><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Master’s degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on embedded processor architectural system design and C or C&#43;&#43; programming</li><li>Knowledge of regulations and industry standards for medical device development including but not limited to ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and FDA Guidance for medical device development.</li></ul><p></p><p><a href="https://www.jobs.abbott/us/en" target="_blank"><b>Apply Now</b></a></p><p></p><p><b>Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:  </b><a href="http://www.abbottbenefits.com/pages/candidate.aspx" target="_blank">www.abbottbenefits.com</a></p><p></p><p>Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
